Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
Sure, it's certainly less than ideal for the players themselves, but then again they've seen it happen a dozen times and STILL make the move to Chelsea initially anyway. At some point the question becomes whether we should really feel sorry for them too much if they're unwilling to learn from the experiences of others.
And honestly, I'm not sure Chelsea's youth policy has much of anything to do with producing players for the first team. I think they're achieving exactly what they want to between the player turn-over and third-party ownership deals/ties.

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
The system obviously isn't perfect and it's obviously build, by and large, to make us money and bring in the very best talent for cheap prices, but calling it talent mass murder is plain wrong. That implies that every one of our youngsters or loan players will one day become a very good player, which is wrong. No club can produce great player after great player, not even the Barcelona's of this world. Or if every talented player reached their potential then we would have Freddy Adu's, or Quaresma's. So I'd argue that the players that don't make it with us isn't our fault but the players, and perhaps they were never going to reach the levels they could have. The system has worked for some players, Bertrand, Lukaku and De Bruyne for example, who have all found their level since leaving the club. While Courtois was part of the loan system and is now one of the best GK's in the world, we paid 6m Euros for him. To compare him to DDG, who is going for upwards of 25m Euros, 6m Euros is a steal for one of the best GK's in the world. That is a success.
In a lot of cases, Chelsea actually give players better opportunities than they would have had otherwise, and if that doesn't even help them then it isn't our fault.
As for our actual youth players (not purchased ones), due to the building of Cobham in 2006, we're only just beginning to see the benefits of that now, as our younger players (Loftus-Cheek for example) have spent their entire youth careers at a world class facility, instead of our old one. So we will continue to produce better talents than we have previously, giving them a better chance of making the first team.

but they are not youth players from Chelsea. they are players signed to the club. and they are not signed to play in the first team. fair play to them for making money on them. but im with hans here. the youth system at Chelsea is a joke. since mourinho first came to Chelsea in 2005 what ever it was. how many players from the youth team are getting games now. mourinho is only interested in star players to play now. mourinho is the best manager in the world for getting results. but he will never look to the youth team for players.RedOranje wrote:Not sure how disastrous that policy is for Chelsea, to be fair. More than half of those young players they sign end up moving on for a net profit and helping to fund Chelsea's bigger moves.

Of your first XI, who is from your academy?
Only players I would count as Liverpool youth is Flanagan and Ibe, so how is your youth policy any better?

John Terry.
Chelsea's youth policy is the biggest disaster in the footballing world, if you consider just HOW MANY *bleep* U21 players they amass and how none of them ever plays for Chelsea.
It's a disgrace, and a bad joke, and it's also talent mass murder.
Anyway, Baba to Chelsea not done yet.
Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
As long as Chelsea sell the players they loan to Gladbach to the latter for a good price after Lucien Favre turned them into valuable players for the team, I'm fine with it.

By Football Italia staff
Roma reportedly have an agreement with Fluminense for Gerson, cornering competitors Barcelona.
The Brazilian appears set to join the Giallorossi for an agreed fee of €15m, according to Spanish outlet El Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona paid €4m to have transfer precedence on the player and are still in the race. Fluminense have already informed them of their agreement with Roma.
Now the Blaugrana have 48 hours to match the Roman offer, or they'll lose their rights over the 18-year-old.
Juventus were also linked with the player and might make another bid.
--------------------------
Because we totally can blow 15m on a midfielder we don't need. I just don't get it.
Clearly need a RB/LB....but no, let's spend that on a midfielder when we're already stacked there.
You're not really interested in the player. Barcelona is just money-laundering again through the Brazilian agency Traffic. The Catalan papers, led by Grupo Godó who are being manipulated by Bartomeu's administration, are just pretending that there is world-wide interest in the player to justify why Barcelona paid money for a first option and will pay additional € 15M for someone who played 12 games for Fluminense and looks shit even on Youtube. Roma fans can be relaxed.

KSC sports director Todt has confirmed left back Philip Max (21) is close to signing for Augsburg, for a fee of up to 4m €.
More evidencce Baba's exit is close after Chelsea have bid 25m+ € for him.

Sven Bender, forgot to mention.
Mauricio Pochettino wants the German to provide an added bite to the Spurs midfield and is also looking at Bender's fellow Bundesliga stars Christopher Kramer and Sidney Sam, a central midfielder and a winger respectively, while they hope to complete a deal for Stuttgart striker Timo Werner.

Schalke would likely even put a gift wrapping around Sidney Sam if someone would like to take him off them XD

Sidney Sam should leave Schalke after what they did with him. Not sure that he can become at Spurs the player he was at Bayer Leverkusen...

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
Bild reports that Manchester United are considering BVB veteran Kevin Grosskreutz (27), whose contract ends in 2016, as an alternative to Pedro.
LvG highly rates the famously versatile midfielder ever since Grosskreutz's strong showings in both BVB wins over Bayern in van Gaal's last season in Bundeliga, and would be willing to spend 20m € for the player.

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
I can't believe LvG thinks we need Grosskreutz right now. What's wrong with the dutchman? We should concentrate on the priorities. A top class central back and a prolific striker is what we need, otherwise we don't have a chance to compete for the EPL title.
Pff and if De Gea leaves, I hope we'll sign another GK cause Romero's 2nd name is Trouble. Not that I have a problem with the Argentinian, I think he can be decent in domestic cups for us.

Gerson only turned 18 a couple of months ago but Soccer is still so scarred from the Douglas deal that he's already written him off based on YouTube highlights. His potential is legit but at this age who the hell knows how he'll turn out.

20M for him is not worth it imo. Barca have there youngsters only waiting to get promoted and signing some random Brazilian would be kinda telling them F U right in the face...

Douglas was (and still is) a random Brazilian. Gerson isn't. But I agree that right now he isn't worth it at that price.
