He had an awful game, and i dont rate him defensively but i rate him higher than people give him credit for i have seen him be boss defensively for Barca and its not down to possession.
Anyway calling him a bad defender for that game is like saying Messi is a crap player lol.
Also if your going to drop him why dont you drop Lucas, Neymar and Thiago Silva because they were just as bad in the first 2 games.
No, Alves isactually good at Attacking and he's really Technical for a WB so he's far from being a bad player. He's actlly one of the best WB's I've ever seen.
I would drop Neymar and Jadson, for Nilmar and Kaka anyday.

Not as easy as it seems from a Chilean kid's pov.
You want me to bash your country then? I am rating Chile higher than Brazil in this Copa, isn't that a positive thing?

Last time I checked he helped portugal to a semi final finish in the world cup.
Ronaldo has been better then messi, though not by much I admit.
What's with it with you barca fans? FFS You guys act like 10 year olds at times.
I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of this forum, criticizing messi but not doing the same with cr7..
And last time I checked, messi help argentina to a copa america final, as cr7 did with portugal in the euro 04. And messi has only really had a big role in 1 WC so far, with a awful team and a awful manager. Both he and cr7 failed to play at their best, but only messi gets criticize for it. Even though he may not have scored, he was still argentinas best player at the WC, the same can't be said for cr7.
If pointing out the hypocrisy of the forum is acting like a 10 year old, then fine i'm a 10 year old

What i was saying is that saying Alves is a bad defender because of one bad performance, he has'nt performed bad defensively for Barca or Brazil for ages is like saying Messi is bad because he didnt perform for Argentina.....
Kneejerk basically as for the dropping comment the reason Alves was dropped imo because he could be, because a quality player was on the bench, could you say the same for Lucas or Neymar? i dont think so.
I am glad you mentioned Nilmar, iam still astonished he was'nt picked but Brazil wont care if they win Copa.

You can make a thread to criticize CR all you want if you have sensible arguments, but what does he have to do with a thread about Argentina's elimination?

Kaka has another WC left in his boots.
He will be awesome next season, and return great.
Video posted in the Madrid section, of his performance against LA Galaxy yesterday. He has the Kaka joy back, BEWARE.

Not to the same extent as messi, and their are alot of people who says that cr7 is better than messi, so shouldn't he get close to the same amount of criticism as messi?
I do know why cr7 plays bad for portugal, and imo its not his fault but it isn't either messi's fault for his performances for argentina. The fact is both messi and cr7 doesn't hit their top form for the NT because of the coach and tactics.. Cr7 played as a lone striker for portugal at the WC and was starved out of possesion while messi, a forward, is forced to drop deep, sometimes even as deep as his own penalty area, to get some possesion and bring the ball forward and distribute it. How can you expect messi to scored as many goals for argentina, or cr7 for portugal when they are doing something that they are not used to.

OT, but the thread has been massively derailed anyway: Your avatar of Robson reminds me so much of the father in Frasier, if you ever watched that show (just that particular image).
