What are you? a City fan? why such juvenile response?
It's a well thought out post, unlike yours. Why should I be jealous about madrid almost buying a player I don't even like or rate that highly. I was stating facts, and then making an educated prediction , given one of our keepers is criminally mismanaged and the media close to home have been trying their best to discredit him. So yeh, if the opportunity arose (which seems it will), Barca would be interested to have him replaced.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
to be honest, if the guy starts for united and does well, it isn't unrealistic to think barcelona or any other top club looking for a goalie (including utd) won't be out for him. i posted something similar when i said, the desire to get him now, is simply to make sure he doesn't leave on a free elsewhere, especially with the rivals bashing ter stegen after the bilbao fiasco....after all, they weren't confident enough to commit to one of bravo and ter stegen as first choice last season. it'll depend on the ddg lvg relationship as well as if ddg can put this fiasco behind him....and if he does end up at barcelona in good form, we would look extremely foolish....although the price utd where asking for was ridiculous, but we should have made an earlier bid and spent the summer bargaining....this saga isn't over yet, i expect it to carry on till next summer

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
there is nothing to be worried about, DDG himself clearly wants to comes here and if farca swoop in and get him, then he was always a pleb anyway.
always been good with navas tbh, some fans really wanted DDG cause he is a big name, but the amount focus and ability I saw from keylor recently, whom im sure knew the club plans before today, and still gave it his best when he plays deserves an happy ending for him imo.

I'm just hoping that the way the club treated Navas doesn't affect his performances.
More Keylor chanting pls

United statement on De Gea transfer
Manchester United notes Real Madrid’s statement on the attempt to sign David De Gea and sell Navas to Manchester United. The Club feels compelled to provide some clarification with the following facts.
• Manchester United did not seek contact from Real Madrid for the sale of David. David is a key member of our squad and the club’s preference was not to sell. • No offer was received for David until yesterday.
• At lunchtime yesterday, Real Madrid made its first offer to buy David. A deal was agreed between the clubs, which included Navas being transferred to Old Trafford. The deals were dependent on each other.
• In the last several hours of the process, with Navas at the Real Madrid training ground, Real Madrid were controlling the documentation processes of David, Navas and Real Madrid. Manchester United was in control only of the documentation of Manchester United.
• Manchester United sent transfer documents for both players to Real Madrid at 2042 BST. David’s documentation was returned by Real Madrid to Manchester United without the signatory page at 2232 BST.
• At 22:40 BST, minutes before the deadline, major changes to the documentation came through to Manchester United which immediately put the deals at risk. • Only at 2255 BST were the documents that are needed to cancel David’s contract received by Manchester United from Real Madrid.
• At this point Navas’ documentation was still not returned by Real Madrid.
• At 2258 BST, the transfer agreement was sent back by Manchester United, uploaded onto TMS and accepted – all before the deadline.
• It is our understanding that the deals couldn’t happen because:
- Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents onto TMS in time (Manchester United did)
- Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents to the Spanish league in time, per reports it seems some 28 minutes after the deadline
• The fact that Manchester United filed the papers on time was acknowledged by the Football Association, who offered to support that claim in any discussions with FIFA. The Club offered this assistance, as well as its own timestamped documents to Real Madrid but they have chosen not to go down this route.
Manchester United acts appropriately and efficiently in its transfer dealings. The Club is delighted that its fan-favourite double Player of the Year, David de Gea, remains a Manchester United player

It was already reported weeks ago that De Gea would receive a handsome signing fee should he wait at Utd to sign for Real on a free.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Why is the process of signing a player so complicated. Upload to TMS, BMS, do this, that. Why can't it just be like FIFA, accept the bid and the player moves. Sort every pointless detail out after.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
People who think DDG will now intentionally play badly to piss Lvg off/to prevent injury and stuff havent at all got a clue of the saga so far.
A player who has never even once said anything remotely close to indicate that he wants to be badly off or join real wont do that. The lad's a top professional and will continue to do what he is been doing for us. Perhaps he will sign a pre contract with Mad in January. but even then he will give his 100%. Also by intentionally playing poorly his reputation in the footballing world will deteriorate. No top player will do that.
The only thing that matters here now is the stand lvg going to take. Stubborn old man could be having a different take and might bench him uttering all those fancy words like match rhythm and philsophee.
But still at least from de gea's side there wont be any lesser effort that much is certain.
Eagerly waiting to know whether he will start the next match or not. Romero is pretty dire even for Lui van g's stubbornness and standard .

Well done, United.
RM effed up, plain and simple. They've embarrassed themselves.
Also the reliable Adam Crafton is saying that word from DDG's camp is he's determined to win his place back in the team and give it his all for the club.
Nice.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
And to put a lovely end to this hilarious saga, here is Marcotti with, on the surface, an unbiased take on this.

http://www.espnfc.com/blog/marcotti-musings/62/post/2592176/manchester-united-real-madrid-losers-in-de-gea-debacle
Gabriele Marcotti wrote:As for United, they too spun the tale that everything is fine. "The club is delighted that its fan-favorite double Player of the Year, David De Gea, remains a Manchester United player" is what they tacked on to the end of their club statement. So delighted, in fact, that a few hours earlier they completed all the paperwork to sell him.

Funniest thing about this is United can kiss goodbye to any future possibility of signing Bale.

Bale's retiring at Mehdrid. He has a special place in Perez' heart. So no concerns there.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Lmfao United's statement is so contradicting it looked like it was written by a intern.
"We didn't want to sell our two time player of the year but two hours ago we sold any way " wat ?
No more business with Manchester .... Don't care since only relevant one will be joining us next year any way for free....Manchester on the other hand we will prolly sell bale to city/chelsea now.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
This is turning into a 'he said, she said'
It's probably most likely that both parties didn't do everything correctly and on time, so I imagine both clubs are to blame, not just one.

So is there a consensus on which party screwed up? Right now it seems that both are blaming each other, spanish media siding with Real and english media siding with United.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Player performance lowers just before transfers. That's why before transfers lot of players goes on "injured" until the move actually happens. You don't want to get seriously injured and become club less like Valdes.De gea is staying with Valdes too lol..he will give nice advise.
Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
United itself said they agreed the deal at noon but only started the paper works at 20.42 British time...2 hours before the dead line in such a complicated two player deal. Let's not forget this was a combined deal.
Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
You assume they had nothing else to do in that time. They were also working on the Martial deal, so they could have taken up their time, too.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
lets me real here madrid and united know how to go about transfers, its clear someone dragged their feet and its obvious the party who did this is united, the blame games is great banter indeed, but looking at the situation logically manu clearly screwed flo over, manu are now gonna spend this season promising DDG whatever to sign an extension, to not look lke compete morons if they lose him for free next summer.
all of this is pretty straight forward imo.
