Bayern are also taking a nose-dive, in terms of recent performances. Just not on good form.

It's rather underwhelming that Hertha Berlin finished outside European places when at one time they were well placed for Champions League qualification. Loosing six of their last eight games (two draws) didn't help their cause either.

As both Bayern and Dortmund (DFB-Pokal finalists) qualified for the CL, this means that the Bundesliga 7th placed club (Hertha) gets an Europa League qualifying berth. This means they will enter the EL qualification in the 3rd round and might still get into the EL proper.

Marco Russ from Eintracht Frankfurt was diagnosed with a tumour after a doping test turned out positive. The Anti Doping Agency found a remarkably high level of some growth hormone in the test sample and recommended a thorough examination of the player as such results could have been caused by an illness, too. During that examination the tumour was discovered.

The player decided he'd play in the relegation play-offs against 1.FC Nürnberg before undergoing treatment, a decision that was okayed by the doctors.
