Leo would never do that and make it about himself. He's too humble and classy.

So anyone caring is too humble and classy? Deserved win for him anyways. Just wish we actually got some personality. He's really a good guy but I just wanted something more. Speeches in general were bad today. The costume lady was the only good one.

His speech was the same as Golden Globes. Climate change, indigenous people, Tom Hardy, Martin Scorsese, Innaritu, everyone else.
Real classy guy, really happy for him.

Was pulling for The Revenant but Spotlight is worthy. Probably enjoyed around four more movies than it tbh but that's personal taste and enjoyment.
As a movie, it is very good, and I can't say it isn't a worthy winner.

Really liked it. He really did the only thing he could, and the right thing. He showed how the outrage was weird while also showing that there's really a problem in roles for people of other races. I didn't like the focus on black actors, while there was no mention of hispanic, muslim and asians.

Died at the sketches and at the black people not knowing any movies despite being "big movie fans"

Gotta give credit to the production design and overall structure of The Oscars. Definitely the best produced Oscars I can remember. The fewer thank yous and more creative and interesting speeches is all that lacked, hopefully improved in upcoming years.

Re: The Oscars 2016 | 88th Academy Awards
Correct Oscars for a change. Very well done by the jury.
Any other year and George Miller would have won the best director for Mad Max. Too bad he had to come up against a mighty beast in Inarritu and Revenant.
And spare a thought for Redmayne too btw. He is a talent of a generation and his performance in Danish Girl is simply out of the world. I am sure it would have been a really tight race between him and DiCaprio. Cant complain.
Anyway Leo's finally won it. Finally! Tears of joy and everything.
Spotlight i havent finished watching. So far it looks a meaty film. Well deserved i believe.
And finally my girl Brie Larson. Delighted for her. Room is just brilliant. Props to the academy for not yet again bowing down to a big name in Blanchett.

I thought Redmayne was really bad tbh. His overacting didn't fit. It'll probably fit as a magician though in Fantastic Beasts.
Didn't enjoy his performance a single bit. Bryan Cranston's Trumbo looked like a cartoon.

well, i disagree. it wasnt overacting to me. and the pain that character was going through i mean without even saying anything he conveyed it properly i felt.
But then i felt the film wasnt that good, Danish Girl. It was a bit yea over the top. His character and how it is written aside i think he did a really fantastic job as Einar/Lily.

LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so glad for him
In my life time too ffs
Not seen spotlight nor planning to but really thought Revenant or Mad Max would win the best picture. I guess spotlight had too much appeal due to the sensitive topic.
Brie Larsson
Tom Hardy got robbed ffs
At least mad max got most of the awards
h8ful 8 sneaking in one

Spotlight was also better. Amazing film, watch it.
Wouldn't say Hardy was robbed. Rylance was absolutely amazing in his role and completely stole every scene he was in to such a degree the film without wasn't interesting. Amazing actor Spielberg has been wanting to work with for decades.

Re: The Oscars 2016 | 88th Academy Awards
Yeah basically agree with Freeza. Spotlight was great on every single level. It was executed at a high level. Not the type of movie you would watch over and over again. But they handled everything so well. I wanted it to win Best Screenplay and it did! Really wouldn't have minded if Revenant or Mad Max won Best Pic, but Spotlight definitely deserves it.
Looks like most people won who we thought would've won. Kinda not in favour Alicia Vikander winning Best Supporting but then again I'm in the minority of this so maybe it's just something personal I didn't like in her performance and of course the movie as a whole.
What can I say. So big a fan. Acknowledge his not so better aspects as an actor, but also knowing he is one of the best of his generation if not the best. Leonardo DiCaprio. Best Actor Oscar winner. Now here's to more because why not.
Can really see Leo doing acting deep into his old age like De Niro, Freeman, Stallone.

Oh and can we give a moment for Chivo and Iñárritu as well and not make it all about Leo.
3 times in a row for Lubezki and 2 year in a row for Alejandro. These are not common feats.

Big congrats to Leo Dicaprio. That win was long overdue.
Spotlight winning best picture??? Smh. I appreciated the message in that movie but goodness me, it took me 3 sittings to finish the movie. Boring af.
Chris Rock's opening segment Touched quite a few nerves, I see. That ether he delivered to Jada Pinkett Smith, 'her boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties......no one invited you'
Also I quite dislike Sam Smith.
