They are only allowed to buy 5 foreign players for each team and allowed to field only 4 foreigners in the starting XI.
So its not like they're just focusing on stacking up as many foreign players they can.

Those chinese teams are really going to inflate the market if they keep spending like this .
At a certain point , even world class players in their prime will start considering  high 8 figure contracts in china over the lure of the champions league and " big league " football .

they'll either overpay for over the hill players like yaya. Or overpay for lesser known talent like teixiera, who may have turned into a stud, in the right situation, but took longer than expected to make the next step.

Someone like Oscar, whos a star, in his prime, would never suffocate his career by going to china, regardless of the salary. which is why I'm sure Chelsea "reportedly" turned down 75 mil for him.

Maybe its the culture shock. because in theory, its waay more money for you, plus a large enough market to make even more. yet players with reputation usually bail a season or two in.

MLS needs to get its act together and start some real reforms on how we allocate salary and pay players or were going to fall behind and lose a lot of targets to this league

i think it will be like basketball in china. they'll attract players from europe, south america, africa (mls got north america i think); but these will probably be players who have played in europe and either considered 'has-beens' or guys who just haven't made it. and the money's there for these guys in china, just look at stephon marbury, he's a big deal over there; a huge icon, but i don't think there's an nba team that wants him.

its may be a "boom" in chinese football, but not so globally; until these clubs can compete with euro clubs for top players in their prime, so until we see say, madrid trying to sign a top talent, and the talent says no he's going to one of the chinese clubs, i don't see it affecting european football so much....even the term "boom" is a bit of a stretch, i mean, it may just be like the mls, which seems to attract some audiences in the states, but a lot of footy lovers are just 'meh' about it

It's ultimately being aimed at improving the quality of Chinese football and groom home-grown talents in the process.
The government has also pledged to build plenty of football academies and schools in an aim to improve grassroots football.

The last time they had this kind of dedicated plan was like some 10-15 yrs in an aim to become a top nation as far as Olympics is concerned and guess what happened.
