CL QF / Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg

expected. thoughts?

On TV someone said that one of the CEOs of Wolfsburg is a big Real Madrid fan, so there will be at least one person at Wolfsburg who is really happy with that draw.

Klaus Allofs didn't look so happy, especially in view of KH Rummenigge's demand that UEFA should use a seeding list for the CL. Allofs' comment at the draw was "Oh, I wasn't aware that UEFA already used the seeding list."

Very managable tie for the VfL IMO. I'd say 50-50.

Last seasons Wolfsburg vs this Madrid team would have been interesting. Now Wolfsburg can even get ahead of Hertha.

That's not exactly funny, it's the last-8 of the CL, of course you may draw a really tough opponent.

That said, I think this is a good tie, this RM team doesn't carry a huge fear factor. I'd give Wolfsburg a 25% chance of going through.

I'm being perfectly serious when I say IMO Real is the second easiest opponent Wolfsburg could have drawn, after Benfica.

Obviously 'easy' is a bit of a stretch, but I'd say they have better chances against Real than against any of Barca, us, Atletico, PSG or City.

Well, Wolfsburg's coach Dieter Hecking just said that he would have prefered Benfica, but after Benfica, Real was the team he most wanted to draw.

Someone tell Ronaldo Wolfsburg is 8th in BuLi.

We're so awful right now but we'll beat them comfortably.

At first I was mad Real got such an easy draw and would thus make it to the semis undeservedly, but I realized this is actually a win-win.

Either they get humiliated by getting knocked out by Wolfsburg (), or they make it to the semis and play either Barca, PSG, or Bayern, all of which will comfortably rout them. So either way the pretenders will be embarrassed (:

While I do agree with that scenario, for sake of arguments, still don't see any particular reason why we won't beat PSG (we did). Bayern is a different story, we kinda can beat them but that means following Futbol's advice and having our players actually follow said advice and Bayern having an off day defensively or Pep experimenting. As you can see, plenty variables to be taken into consideration.

Pretty sure we won't be winning any games against Barcelona this season.

PSG couldn't beat our C team

No matter how shit RM are atm, PSG don't stand chance against them. Not now not ever.

First leg is away. If we can get ourselves a 2 goal deficiet going into the 2nd leg. The return tie will be a piece of cake.

How are Wolfsburg in the league? Good/Bad? I know they have draxler and schurrle now but they seem to be leaky at the back.

Big surprise here. Madrid have had such tough luck in recent years drawing the toughest teams time and time again.

I personally think it's great to see Madrid get a break for once from all of those insanely tough ties they've had to take on Wolfsburgo, who are also very talented.

Will be hard for Madrid, don't know it they'll squeeze through :/

Gotta love how everyone shits on us. City is 4th in the worst Premier League season of all time quality wise. Meanwhile we beat PSG. Bayern have looked strong, but so did they last time and then we beat them 5-0.


I'm shit scared of Barca and they're in a class of their own and something drastic has to happen for all teams involved to even stand a chance to beat them.

I don't see the City, PSG and Bayern hype yet. Let's see how the quarters go. Because if these tournaments have taught us anything, it is that a lot of thing chance during weeks yet alone months.
