Once we get Mustafi (we better ffs), I wonder if Chambers will have a future here. Holding has significantly outperformed him since arriving and you would think that even Holding will become our 5th choice CB.

I guess that Chambers can become a straight up RB, but if someone else can play there instead then I would be very much in favour of loaning him out come January when Merteswagger is coming back. He needs to improve and unless he plays games then I don't see it happening.

Chambers is going through the same nonsense Wenger put Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain in. Use these players to cover gaps in the squad and play them in as many positions until they get worse than when they arrived. I have no doubt that Holding will go through this as well when Wenger plays him alongside Xhaka and he covers for Bellerin after Debuchy is gone.

I think it is a little far to say that the "reality of the market" means a surfeit of quality attacking players available. There are options, but it's not just a buyer's market out there.
