It was heavily implied in the books that she had a celeb crush on him more than anything and then it turned into "liking brother's best mate"

I don't actually think they have spent more than 2-3 pages talking to each other.

Get on it ffs. It's the Star Wars of our time tbh.

To me, Ginny ending up with Harry was symbolic of him finally joining a true and actual family, something he had never had before. I mean yeah the Weasley's have always been there for him of course, but marrying Ginny and having kids with her binds him to that family at a far deeper level. And then of course Hermione marrying Ron further cements their friendship into that of an interconnected family. I like to think that was Rowling's intention.

Logically, yes Harry and Ginny getting together was pretty damn sloppy and underdeveloped, but ultimately, I see bigger, more meaningful reasons for it. Didn't mind it for those reasons either, despite how hastily it was done.

Harry x Hermione only started because of how pretty Emma Watson turned out to be

Ron and Hermione romance was being built up till Chamber Of Secrets, no idea how you guys can say that it did not make sense.

Harry/Ginny was handled terribly in the movies and it did come out of nowhere in the books. It's still better than Harry/Hermione whose relationship is very brotherly/sisterly since the first book/movie.

Haven't watched a single movie since I as a kid tried reading the first book and it just seemed childish, even at that time.

In my defense, LoTR fever was just out and once I started reading Fellowship, I never came back.

Now in my more mature years, I'll give it a shot, though.

Agree with this, especially on the Ron and Hermione stuff.

A lot of it didn't make sense if you didn't read the books. And I didn't believe they were in love when they were acting. It felt forced. Ginny should've been cut entirely if she wasn't going to have lines at least.

It's an adapted screenplay. They couldn't cut an important character.

She isn't important in the movie though. She's basically just a plot device in Chamber. They should've given her more to do. We never saw any personality from her.

Also characters are almost always cut during adaptations from huge series. So many useless characters in the movies, but they still have them in some important scenes.

She should have been recasted at some point. On Half Blood Prince or Order Of The Phoenix.

But they probably thought that she barely has any character anyways so might as well let it slip

I have a feeling that Colin Farrell will turn out to be the new Alan Rickman of the movie series.

Really glad that he got casted in a multi billion dollar franchise.

I'm really hyped for Fantastic beasts. Can't wait to see where the story will take us. Hopefully some prime Dumbledore action

He's not in the first one. I imagine eventually if they're planning a five movie story arc.

Still not a Redmayne guy though. Farrell and Ezra Miller though and Katherine Waterston

I've gotten hyped since I heard the possible 5 movie story arc with prime Dumbledore and prime Grindelwald.

I actually wouldn't mind if they did a prequel star wars style (obviously better) showing all the events up to leading the night harry survived

I just would love more movies in this universe. So much more to do imo.

Exactly. The HP universe is massive. There are so many possibilities. You've already got a goldmine with the franchise's fan base.

We rarely ever went outside of the UK either in the HP universe.
