Loved all three performances though. Prefered Tatum's. That was an amazing role for him.

agreed with the bold part.

Each of us having different favourites out of the three speaks volumes of how great the acting was in that movie.

I agree. The reason I liked Carell's performance the most was because it was so subtle. It stood out more to me than the 2 brothers(who I totally agree were equally brilliant).
There was this scene in which he basically gets embarrassed in front of his old mother. The sheer pain he emoted after realizing he is a disappointment.( Lol can actually relate to that scene a lot tbh). He plays like this rich loser who wants to do something meaningful to his country but fails ultimately. Its such a powerful role that mesmerized me and ofc haunted me.

Inside Llewyn Davis - 8.1 ----> 8.5
Nightcrawler - 8.7 ---->  8.8
Spotlight - 8.8 -----> 9.2

I didn't write anything for Spotlight after the rewatch but I gotto say it's sooo good. I had completely forgotten how goat level of a film it is. Had goosebumps throughout the film.

Wow, I didnt/couldnt finish watching Spotlight sensing a docu air to it. I will definitely check it out now that it is getting these high ratings.

You really have to pay attention to it right from the start because there are just so many names that are important. But it's absolutely brilliant investigative journalism that is chilling to the bones. There's absolutely no fake cheap drama created, the story itself is so powerful that you are at the edge of your seat throughout. The movie doesn't hold the audiences hand whatsoever and I love it for that.

It has Zodiac feel to it. Very much feels like a Fincher movie.

The acting is other worldly. Love Michael Keaton and everyone else. But special mention to Liev Schreiber for a very underrated supporting performance. He stole all the scenes he was in.

Whiplash - 9.5 -----> 9.5 no change goat film is goat
Drive - 8.3 -------> 8.1

Drive not as good as I remembered it. The score is beautiful and the movie is beautifully shot but it was quite a drag to get through in the latter half of act 2. I enjoyed the start about 40 minutes in it was losing my interest and it kind of swayed towards a regular action flick towards the end.

90s was such a GOAT decade for film, not even going to talk about 1999 the best year of all time.
I could make a list like you guys did but then I'd probably just repeat most of the films you guys already mentioned. I also don't have as much as a large scope of films watched in that decade. Like for instance in this current decade of ours I would easily watch more than 50 films per year, probably even up to 70 or 80. While the years in the 90s I've probably only seen like 10 films per year.

Can't do anything from 50s. Only seen Hitchcock movies and 12 Angry Men. A few like Casablanca and Citizen Kane from 40s.

@Freeza watch Sergio Leone's Dollars triology. Love those movies, defining Westerns. His Once Upon A Time triology is really good too.
