Think he has to leave at the end of the season now.

Is his contract up at the end of the season? I don't think even he will want to stay any longer

His contract is indeed up at the end of the season.

But the club offered him a two year extension a couple of months ago. Laughing

I don't know how wenger managed to keep Arsenal at this average level for the last 4-5 years straight. They are not getting better or worse they are just the most average team in Europe. Best of the worst, worst of the bests

Its been a steady decline from good to average to hopeless over a decade.

I checked some stats quickly to see a trend of their R16 exits

10-11: lost 4-3
11-12: lost 4-3
12-13: lost 3-3
13-14: lost 3-1
14-15: lost 5-1
15-16: lost 5-1
16-17: lost 5-1 (in one leg)

I used to like Arsenal but there is just no hope anymore.

Forget the aggregate scores, Arsenal always lose the tie in the first leg.

Said this in chat but I find it hilarious he's achieving the same results with the players he has now as he was with scrubs like Denilson lol.

The squad isn't the issue, he's just a significantly worse coach than he was 3-4 years ago sadly.

Honest question, do you see enough talent in this Arsenal? I'm not sure that they are underperforming by SO much (they are underperforming ofc though) but their team is just not good enough.

Too many of these players shouldn't be starting at the same time for Arsenal. The bench is dire too.

To beat Bayern? No but it's clear that a better coach would have them performing better.

I just find it hilarious that he has significantly better talent than when he signed Ozil and the likes but the results are worse if anything.

This tells me he's regressed as a coach significantly.

I think they've been unlucky with injuries but yes, the majority of players just aren't good enough

Elneny? Oxlade fn Chamberlain?! are you having a laugh? are you mad? are you crazy? who the F is Iwobi?

bad usage of funds too

Perez? 20m for a third choice striker?

Xhaka? lmao, less said about the Albanian Clattermole the better. 40 million.

Mustafi? would have been better off getting Lescott in on a free

Sanchez is the only top, top player they have

I think even Everton have a better squad tbh

Also I said this when Pardew was our manager, but when every player is underperforming it's clearly down to the ineptitude of the coach.

A few players underperforming fair enough but all of them? Nah.

Coquelin might be the worst French signing of all time for Arsenal too. Makes Squillaci and Flamini look like Balon D'or shortlist nominees. Still starts every game. As bad as their injury issues have been, a lot of the squad/lineup issues they have atm are firmly on Wenger.

Actually, if you go by win percentage the results are better Laughing Doesn't seem that way but our win percentage is the highest it's ever been under Wenger. It's just that it falls short of the level we want to be at because we suck in big games.

But yes, this isn't a great time assess squad quality because it's not certain players dragging down the team's level. When everyone is playing poorly it's an issue with the coach.

All of these names you mentioned they are all better than the players that were starting regularly during the Song, Denilson, Djourou era lol.

You are vastly underrating the impact what bad coaching has on a team and it makes players look like, Spurs players are not anything special but they look like it because Pochettino is a far superior coach.

But anyway it surely won't be long now till when I'm proved right because surely he won't last past the season. ( unless they do a prime Newcastle and go from Pardew to Carver to McClaren lol)

Yeah there's no doubt Wenger should not stay for another contract. Displays like tonight are just not acceptable.

He needs to call it quits, and when he does everyone needs to shut up with their hating and give the man the immense credit and love he deserves.

It's not hating it's analysing performance and criticising where fit.

I'm not going to ignore it because he's a legend, that's just stupid.
