La Liga Discussion 2016/17: La Cuarta Parte - Page 3 Empty Re: La Liga Discussion 2016/17: La Cuarta Parte

Post by The Demon of Carthage Sat Feb 25, 2017 8:33 am

I'm starting to truly believe that the current generation of French players is the most overrated one in Europe. I don't even have to look further than Real Madrid to realize this.

We have:

Raphael Varane
La Liga Discussion 2016/17: La Cuarta Parte - Page 3 Raphael-Varane
Now, here's a player who's not afraid to blackmail the club into giving him a guaranteed starter-status even though he's not even half as good as a drunk Pepe.

Strengths: One good performance against Barcelona four years ago.

Weaknesses: Blackmail, injury-pronitude, mistake-pronitude, and a measureless, baseless sense of entitlement.

Karim Benzema
La Liga Discussion 2016/17: La Cuarta Parte - Page 3 93321

This is the guy that succeeded legendary forwards like Raul and R9, and managed to last longer than the latter at Real Madrid.

Strengths: Link-up play, or so they say.

Weaknesses:

  • Football-related: laziness, indifference, injury-pronitude, wastefulness among many, many...many other things.
  • Not football-related: modern day Al Capone.

Z

A Pep-wannabe with a lacking tactical mind, nonsensical subs and a severe case of nepotism.

Tactical plan: cross the living crap out of the ball.
Strengths: a bottomless pit of luck.
Weaknesses: Unfair treatment to more deserving players (resulting in them wanting out), nonsensical subs, stubbornness, lack of a well-defined tactical plan and nepotism.

Modern day Al Capone ffs rofl

I agree about the french players part. Varane, Umtiti, Koscielny, Pogba, Payet, Griezmann et al the lot of them are so overrated. We should stay the hell away from French players from now on

Valencia haven't had a single shot on target against Alaves. It's basically a 1-way traffic game so far. So they are back to being useless Rolling Eyes

Real Betis vs Sevilla kicking off at 15:15.

Sevilla team:

Rico; Rami, Pareja, Mercado; Sarabia, Vitolo, N'Zonzi, Nasri, Escudero; Vazquez, Jovetic

Sevilla can go level on points with Madrid with a win.

Completely different second half. Sevilla have dominated. Sampaoli's changes have worked very well.

2-1 now. Two set-pieces, two goals. Mercado and Iborra.

Betis 1 - 2 Sevilla FT.

Huge win for Sevilla. Puts some pressure on Barca and Madrid before their big games.

15 of Sevilla's goals have come from their bench. Sampaoli is magic with subs.

Just realised Sevilla are actually top now

Also if Alteti beat Barca tomorrow and Madrid lose again, they'll be back in the title race.

As predicted RFEF put two refdrids on todays tough matches, Mateu Lahoz is about to steer points to Atletico, and Gil Manzano to Refdrid. Atletico +1, Refdrid nets almost three houses on 1 house bet, free houses for everyone.

When did you declare that Lahoz is a Flo Perez man? Laughing From what I recall, RM's more often than not gotten the short end of the stick whenever he's been involved in a match.

This smells like a dirty Barca win though. I totally expect Suarez to be at his worst, Neymar to quietly be the best player and Messi to get MoM by just showing up.

Well, he is correct only for a team that is Valencia. They ALWAYS play their hardest against us but capitulate against any other team really. They do try against Barcelona sometimes.

Valencia considers us their rival but I'm not sure if Madrid fans see Valencia in the same light.
