Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2017/2018
All of these kids are playing in random positions because of Walcott and Giroud, if it wasn't for them Nelson would be starting on the right wing, Da Silva as the LWB, AMN on the middle with Willock, Nketiah as the striker and Iwobi on the left wing. They would play better football as well.

Re: European and Domestic Cups Discussion 2017/2018
Part of the issue is the lack of cover at wing-back. Monreal would be LWB if he wasn't a starting centre back, and there's zero cover for Bellerin. Even Dasilva isn't a natural wing-back (he's a striker turned into a midfielder), but is at least left-footed.
Wenger's just ended up putting anyone with pace and can run with the ball there. Iwobi was playing LWB in the second half today ffs. Walcott was RWB by full time. Just so happens Walcott and Giroud are spare attackers who need minutes as well, so the youth guys get the short straw.
Really, we should be adjusting the formation. Four at the back, Coquelin/Debuchy full backs, Nelson/Wilshere/Walcott attack with Niles in midfield with whoever.

Barely watched the match since it was not exactly watchable
soft penalty but whatever. Lost the match but topped the group.

Well his first language, which he spoke all through his childhood, is a quasi-German dialect so it's not a surprise.
But yes, his German is nothing short of exquisite.

Yeah well he does have a slight French accent, but the markers of that French accent fuse with what sounds like a south-west/western German dialect.
Certain phones are like people would talk in Baden (Freiburg), or Palatinate, or along the Rhine (which is where Wenger was born after all), for example the 'ch' are pronounced 'sh', the same as it is in a French accent, but also for example my mom used to talk a bit like that, she's from the Rhine-Moselle area.
I don't know what proper Alsacian sounds like as I don't think I've ever heard it (I assume it incorporates exactly that mixture of Baden-Palatinate-Rhine German along with French elements), but Wenger speaking German sounds 'almost' native.

Nottingham Forest away in the FA Cup.
We went there last year in the League Cup and won 4-0. Will be an amazing atmosphere but they're not that good.
