General Games Discussion

It looks interesting but i think it might be a little too realistic, not in terms of graphics but in terms replicating what medieval times were.

Don't really have any interest in it.

Dialogues looks terribly boring. Combat looks like you are playing rust lmao. No doubt people will buy it but can't see anyone on GL enjoying it.

Yeah it seems like they focused more on replicating medievil life and exploration and everything else is quite basic.

Not surprising though, to do something that complex would take an obscene budget.

Also i don't about anything else but real medievil is not something is not something i'm really interested in, Witcher or Game of Thrones is about as real as i'm willing to go lol.

There needs to be a certain level of fantasy.

I generally don't like it when games sacrifice fun in an attempt to be more realistic than they're capable of being, and I agree that it seems to be the case with Kingdom Come. I doubt I'll actually get the game, but from what I can tell it looks like the most interesting new game that comes out between now and late march. I'm not the biggest fan of indies, myself, but that kind of cynical and generalising attitude is probably the reason why you only play Dark Souls, RG Metro is developed by an indie company, for the record.

It's made by a company called 4A games so it's better imo.

So does Sniper Elite, System Shock and Hellblade which are all indie games. I do like some of the more traditional indie games, like the ones made by Super Giant Games. I hear Divinity: Original Sin and Shadow Warrior are good indie games, as well. But yeah, a lot of the indie games out there are either not very good, or appeal towards a niche audience by being retro or 2D. Not usually what floats my boat.

That reminds me.. I haven't checked out Pyre, yet. Someone on here mentioned it a few pages back. I wonder if it's any good.

Divinity is great, i heard Divinity 2 is GOTY worthy from people who played it.

But i'm waiting for the inevitable PS4 release.

I keep forgetting that CD Projekt Red are indie, as well. Mid-budget indie developers tend to make very good games, from my experience. Wish there were more of those on PSN, instead of tons of low budget companies that make different platformers.

They started out like that but i can't consider a team which is working a game with over 300 developers to be indie anymore tbh.

I get your point though, there are some great indie games and probably shouldn't be all painted with the same brush.

It's the same as people who hate on AAA because they dislike microtransactions, open world etc etc not all AAA games are like that.

Exactly my point I don't think CDPR can be categorized as indie anymore, not in terms of scale anyway, but they were up until recently. It's been reported that their staff had been working for low pay and under really strict conditions to make ends meet, and it's pretty amazing that they managed to make such a high quality game with a substantially lower budget than triple A games that are inferior in both quality and quantity. I suppose that's the difference between passionate indie developers and triple A publishers who just throw money at a safe formula and expect no one to complain about shallow content.

Took down the second boss in Monster Hunter, had a bit more fun doing it. Might give it another shot before the beta ends, I can see it being fun and the combat pretty meaty if you take the time to master it. Might end up giving it a shot out of boredom.

I ordered Dragonball Fighter Z

Enjoyed the beta, felt like a faster paced Tekken Tag Tournament and in the mood for fighting games atm for some reason.

Me when I play some Japanese lad in my first game which turns me off the game for ever....

Is the beta still on?

I've been having issues connecting to PSN for about an hour now. I got online again for a brief while, but then I got kicked out half an hour later. Something tells me this is another hacking attempt by someone :/

Today, Microsoft announced that it was expanding the Xbox Game Pass to also include brand new, Xbox-exclusive titles. As in, when Xbox One exclusives launch, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, or future Halo or Gears games, they will also appear on day one in Xbox Game Pass.

$10 a month. Basically netflix of gaming.

I'd never buy another first party single player game again if Sony did the same, doubt they will though

I have to be honest Microsoft have been great this generation when it comes to this sort of stuff.

I want it to be successful so it becomes a industry wide thing.

Sony already has it in PSNow. You don't get the big PS4 games on it yet but you get some PS4 + tons of PS3/2/1 + classics from sega and old pc.

It's not the same as PSNow.

Firstly you don't have to stream so no possibilities of latency and they are releasing their exclusive games day 1 as part of the £10 subscription.

To use an example you get God of War day 1 as part of the subscription if Sony did the same thing.

It's a far superior service.

Sony has no reason to, their sales are off the charts. Xbox is playing catch up. Sony would only do this if Xbox starts outselling them.

The gap isn't as large as I thought tbh, X1X outsold the PS4 holiday season in the US I think?

Something like this getting big is good for everyone, so I hope it's a success for Microsoft

That doesn't mean much tbh, Switch has been outselling both quite often.

Sony has been dominating for years now, a month here and there doesn't do much tbh.

Yeah cus the X1X just released and PS4 Pro was never put on sale, just kept at $400.

watching some footage of the new shadow of the colossus, graphically looks great..ffs, wish I waited a few years instead of playing the PS2 port. I might replay it anyway
