When Tom sees someone throwing shade at Juve (that isn't himself about the club's net spend)

Ain't taking no shots from some fans of some life long mid table club as if they can expect anything above a top 6 finish with any regularity lol. Upper mid table is their level, they just haven't realised it yet despite qualifying for the CL once every few years.
And i'm not even talking about Milan here.

I thought that bribing refs was a good plan. it has worked for other teams in the pastTomwin Lannister wrote:Ain't taking no shots from some fans of some life long mid table club as if they can expect anything above a top 6 finish with any regularity lol. Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
"The change in City’s defending since last season is remarkable. There are new additions, of course, and both Kyle Walker and Ederson have been almost faultless since joining the club, but it is the improvement in John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, Fabian Delph and Fernandinho that should stand out most. City have conceded just 14 shots on target all season. Even if they had picked Stuart Pearce’s toy horse in goal and allowed every one of those shots on target to go in, City would still be fourth and only four points behind Manchester United. As it is, they are five clear."

Its really surprising that Pep has been able to improve the defense so far, his teams defending have never been great and oppositions always exploit his weakness of numbers at the back, so not sure how hes done that this season. Not complaining of course and really hope it can continue, if so, Pep has really won me over because hes been able to fix one of his biggest flaws.

WHAT?
Both his Barca and his Bayern teams have had remarkable defensive records, his Bayern set numerous records for low number of goals conceded, most clean sheets etc.
Pep has always been an absolutely outstanding defensive coach.
People who claim otherwise have no clue whatsoever about football.

Agreed, a surprise would be someone who is outside the top 6 which weren't expected.
Burnley maybe?

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
Yeah Spurs have done this the last two years, the surprise with them is their results in the CL
@Robes
Biggest surprise: Promoted teams doing so well (Huddersfield-11th place, Brighton-12th place, Newcastle-7th place, mind it's still early but they've had good starts). City isn't a surprise, but they're scoring almost 4 per game and conceding less than 0.5 per game--they look incredible. Watford have looked really good too, 6th atm.
Biggest disappointments: Everton/West Ham with 8 points are at 17th and 16th place respectively and look fraudulent. Liverpool and Klopp look less than impressive. Chelsea is 4th right now, but are 9 points from top and are probably getting results even better than their performances, which have been awful. Out of the title race already I think

To back it up:
In 09/10 and 10/11, Pep's Barca conceded 24 and 21 goals respectively.
Even peak Atletico, winning the league, conceded more with 26.
Mourinho conceded more than 30 goals the season his Real won the league, and even in this season Pep's Barca conceded less than Mou's Real.
At Bayern, the 17 goals conceded in 15/16 are the LEAST goals ever conceded in BuLi history, while his 14/15 record with 18 goals equlas Jupp's treble season as 2nd place, and his 13/14 23 goals are 4th place.
I'm going to say that Pep is the best defensive coach around, and the numbers prove it.

Would agree but i didn't want to sound too arrogant
I'd add Watford too tbh, they look the best side outside the traditional top 6 imo. Silva is doing a fantastic job.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
We play Burnley this weekend btw Will probably the most disgustingly boring game of the season.
Two defensively solid teams with *bleep* all talent in attack, i can't wait to scrap my eyes balls out with a machete.

The mediawatch section is usually good for a laugh.
Frightening how completely inept the British football media is apart from say Henry Winter.
The rest are an absolute embarrassment.

Hard working and organised. Very good lone striker in Chris Wood although he pulled his hammy on Saturday so that'll be a big loss to them.
Good enough to finish mid table.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
Sean Dyche to be named new Everton manager, apparently.
Will be interesting to see how he gets on with more resources available to him.
Sucks for Burnley, though.
