In fairness i would expect neutrals to find us boring lol, i'm obviously speaking from a neutral POV that i'd rather see the likes of Italy and Argentina other lesser known countries that are worse than Sweden ( i don't consider them part of that as they are pretty big themselves)

If it's your country it's a different story tbh.

Last year in Euros, Italy was a far superior team to us (Spain). This year in group qualifying we were very even and certainly there was huge cause for concern going into the match in Spain. It seems since that game, Italy has collapsed! However it is the same coach and players.

That's exactly what happened.

Conte had the oldest team ever (literally) at the euros. So After he left Ventura was supposed to rejuvenate the team and bring in new faces.

For his first match we had that 1-1 draw were decided it was prudent to keep the old team to start. Then it came a transition period that went fairly well with all the right younger faces. A big problem was that Ventura was focusing on an ultra-attacking 4-2-4 like a pleb. It worked against the smaller teams and there was a lot of optimism going into the match in Spain.

Then we got wrecked by Isco and it basically crippled Ventura's plans because he realized that you can't play with 2 CMs against a team like Spain. An overwhelming negativity happened and he hasn't found answers. He picks the right players for call ups for the most part, but tactically he has been terrible in the last 4 matches or so. He has an old school obsession with systems that don't work anymore and avoids playing the more technical players in the squad. If it would work, like with Conte, its not a problem. But if you sacrifice talent for tactics and then your tactics are poor then...

Insigne, Bernardeschi, El Shaarawy, Florenzi, Jorginho, Pellegrini and Marchisio weren't starting against Sweden (and then he took out Verratti too). If you are gonna be that bold in excluding so many of your best players then you have to make sure to know what you are doing.

Rumours about Ventura to play the match of the life choosing for Insigne on bench and Gabbiadini starter
I hadn't idea Gabbadini was even called up
The most important match ever etc to rely in Gabbiadini

I'm trying to assume that the Sky prediction is bs. It can't be true that Gabbiadini will play. The player least deserving of the call up.

I honestly don't even care who plays anymore. Everyone who wears the shirt and plays under Ventura for this team sucks to suck equally

With that being said, I think we need as much creativity up front to make up for Verratti's absence in the midfield. So, I hope we see Insigne, and he's allowed to wear his Napoli shirt for the game

Calma, Gabbiadini is our Benedetto. Troll function.
I can't wait for Parolo to make one Messi and carrying us to World Cup with a hattrick.

The scenes when De Rossi scores a panenka penalty in the 87th minute to win the game

Ventura stands on the sidelines, peacefully as a single tear rolls down his cheek

A perfect qualification

He resigns after the match

My narrative implies an earlier goal, “to win the game”

Italy should have had a penalty already but unfortunately for them the ref is from Spain tonight.

What baffles me though is why doesn't he use VAR in questionable situations? The decision when to use the system should up to coaches, not the ref.

What? That was never a pk for Italy. Never. Parolo tripped on his own thoughts and ambitions.

Lmao Real Madrid trusted refeeree has been bought again by Uefa Madrid to put Italy through. Penalty to Sweden turned yellow to Sweden. And no media will complain. Laughing
