Re: Napoli is a bit overrated
I agree with Hans though.
Napoli hype is quite shocking in this period.
Napoli fanbase = they claim to be rated a great team as other.
If they win it is because they play the best football than others.
If they lose is because they play better than others ( Sarri said " We dominated Juve for 70' ". Well , I don't remind a serious chance by Napoli tbh ) but the other teams are stronger because of revenues etc etc
Impossible competing with big money of others etc ( duly after every loss )
Moreover they have press so incline with them , read to hype them on basically .. nothing ( trophies ?. )
Newspapers to praise them after 2-4 against City ( that' s dramatically true. We were criticized if we tied 0-0 against Barca under Guardiola ) or 1-3 against Real . It is always so after every European defeat.
it's fine with me to treat them as hipster team . And so praising for football , atmosphere etc Nothing against it. But before talking about great club, they should show it.
But yes , as said S, there are three big clubs in Italian football . The Italian football cake rotates around them . The rest are side dish.

Re: Napoli is a bit overrated
Napoli is a great team when all 11 starters are rested and available. They looked completely different in terms of quickness and reaction time in the game against Juve than they did in games earlier in the season, yet Juve had play counter attack with 11 players defending against Napoli. They also lost Ghoulan, who was a tireless (and talented) attacking wingback who was involved in 60-70% of the attacks. Napoli have no replacement for Ghoulan. They tried playing Hejas? (the Albanian) on the left, but he was horrible on that side and is only comfortable on the right.
In short, Napoli is a great team with zero depth. You don't get far with that unless you have only the Serie A to contend with.
Inter (much less talented than Napoli) is also without depth, but only has Serie A so the first team is always rested before a game and the chances for injury are reduced. If Inter lose one player, e.g. Icardi, they are toast, for example.

Inter are not 'less talented' than Napoli. Just as good if not better in some areas. Inter actually have world class players unlike Napoli.

Re: Napoli is a bit overrated
Of course Inter is less talented, they also have no depth except for Brozovic. They are after Juve, Napoli and Roma in terms of squad. Well ahead of Lazio and the rest, but behind the best 3.

Very overhyped by SerieAcers who love all 20 teams in the league equally. Will finish 2nd and crash out of last 16.

Re: Napoli is a bit overrated
Napoli DOMINATED the game yesterday, Juventus was just flawless defensively, as expected. Juventus might beat everyone in a 1v1 match, it ain't an insurance of winning the scudetto of 38 games.
It never was about hyping Napoli and having an "agenda", despite what the Anti-Juve Council tries to turn it into. Since the beginning of the season, it was 3 Juve fans who know their team enough to say "Napoli have more chance than Juve to win the scudetto"... and now look at the table and prove us wrong please.
*bleep* Napoli, we hate them, their players and this fool ADL.
But hey, excuse us (Luca, Rincon and myself) if we don't change our mind after one game.

What do you think about Napoli being scudetto winners Breva ? on a scale of 1 to 10
Reading your posts here and on "group F" thread, i understand some nuances in your opinion.

Napoli don't have enough horses to win the Scudetto, and they don't have a Maradona. Their only possibility is that they are eliminated in the CL and if they make the EL, they rest their first string in EL games. And even then I give them a 5 at most.

Re: Napoli is a bit overrated
It cannot be ignored that this season is Napoli's best chance to win the scudetto. I tend to agree that beyond that starting XI the depth isn't quite there, but they need that "champion's" luck in order to take this down to the wire. Outside of losing to Juve, they've had it so far this season on a whole.
Europe doesn't figure into this equation as Napoli are prioritizing the CL lower than Serie A.
I don't consider them overrated or underrated at this point. Every Seria A fan knew they would be strong back in the summer and they've been just that. The only mild surprise is they haven't translated that in the CL.
Also Mertens scored 20+ goals last season. An excellent stat for a player as small in stature as him not named Messi. He's legit. One bad game doesn't change that.
I'm with Totti on this one, but that's not much of a surprise I'd suppose.

Crashed out of CL finishing 3rd behind a club displaced by civil war, losing to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the process.
Safe to say they're a bit overrated.

I have seen the light
but they have more talented players than Inter (:
Inter would comfortably finish 2nd in this group if not first.

You think i'm scared ?? Upvotes have no power against me
If Napoli isn't 100% focused on Serie A they won't win the title. So leaving Europe aside for this season is only logical. They can't compete on all fronts, unlike Juventus.

Napoli is 100% focused on Serie A and still won't win it so they are wasting everyone's time all around.
