Arséne Wenger has confirmed a swap deal between Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sánchez is likely to happen before the weekend. He also says Mkhitaryan’s wage demands aren’t an issue. (Source: @JamesOlley)

Just turned 29 and is one of the best forwards in the world
It's hilarious how journalists are throwing around pre tax wages he will be earning and crying about it yet you never see them mention the same for any other high earners in the league, nobody taking into account the wages we're saving from Mkhi either.
what a signing
a lot of bitter people out there atm and rightfully so when you see some of the dross starting for them, they know Sanchez would be a dream signing

Probably more to do with how high those wages really are. Not to mention, you could also cite the cost that it took to bring Mkhitaryan in- cutting your losses now is very different from smart financial moves.
The real move is not to care at all about the financial side of this sport, its only discussed when agendas are being pursued, like last month when Mourinho was near tears saying how United needed to spend more- despite having a nearly identical spending record as City

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
It's just funny when you're reading articles transfer signings directly above and below this and there are literally no mention of pre tax wages etc, nothing but agendas in football
Alexis is earning about what he should be when you look at utter crap like Oxlade earning 120K p/w after tax (and that's after turning down 180K p/w at Arsenal) etc
He will be fantastic for at least 2 years..after that we should be looking to ship him on although I imagine that'll be hard.
Hell, there wasn't much commotion made when we signed an injured Ibrahimovic for another year (I never did find out if he wasn't going to get paid until he was fully fit, think I heard rumours of that) and he was on silly money himself, but all of a sudden people are going crazy because we swiped a player from Pepe G

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
Ibra was on silly money because he signed on a free, a club is then more inclined to beef up the wages since they did not have to pay the player's previous club a fee for signing him
But to be honest, I agree with you. How much he makes or costs is really of no concern and is only consequential should he play poorly. I expect him to be a hit at United because he's a brilliant player and given that he isn't cup tied, its the best impact signing that any club can make this season- and one of the better January signings I can remember

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
scenes if he flops though..I'm still pissed if it affects Martial long term, not convinced by Rashford at all so w/e there, he isn't improving enough, I'd like to see him out on loan to develop more but we know how that never works.
if we line up like that next season I don't care if they're all earning 1.5 million a week pre-tax, that looks disgusting
Lukaku
Martial Ozil Sanchez
Pogba Matic

Stop playing Paul in a midfield two, its a waste of time
Sanchez-Lukaku-Lingardinho
Pogba-Matic-Sturaro*
Sturaro under Mou would be like prime Roy Keane in my opinion, @rincon can confirm. He's also available at an economic 45M price and he's sure to argue with 12 year old Man City fans on twitter using google translate like prime @robes

Still some questions around his form though. Been meh to shit for a lot of the season. I've seen him turn it on during some games though, so i'm hoping it's more because his head wasn't at Arsenal after expecting to leave during the Summer, which would make sense. It's risky because if he comes in and continues to play like that then it would turn into one of the worst deals since Torres to Chelsea, I imagine.
So he could be a fantastic signing or a nightmare. Good upcoming arc for all involved to witness IMO.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
He's been a walking corpse at Arsenal, clearly wanted out desperately in the summer. Pair that with Chile not making the World Cup and I'm sure this has been one of his most miserable professional seasons in a long while.
He will find resurgence under Mou, WATTBA, but it will be at the expense of a Rashford and/or Martial, its written in the stars

I've personally not seen that, maybe on Redcafe where a lot of delusional supporters gather. Our team is good enough right now to compete, at least on paper. I do think our backline is a bit shite but you can say the same about every other team in the league. Got Delph, Zappacosta, and Ashley Young starting at fullback in the top 3

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
There's people on here alone who is fooled by his bullshit act tbh.
Claiming he doesn't have enough talent to compete and squad isn't good enough, it's complete nonsense perpetuated by idiotic sheep who follow his negative bullshit.
A much more positive manager would have them competing, quite hard for attacking players to look good for a manager who puts shackles around their ankles.
People blame Lukaku but what's he supposed to do when he's feeding off scraps, his wingers are acting like full backs and any creative midfielder other than Pogba are ostracized.
It's a never ending cycle of excuses when it comes to him, the same will happen regardless of the players he buys.

I have been GUIDED by the seven deities to the section of general on this universe known as the legacy of goal! I have a PROCLAMATION for the Woken Warriors among us. Señor Benjamin and the NEFARIOUS Alejandro Sanchez's souls have been intertwined for millennia! Their vessels may be far apart in the year twenty eighteen, but like the mortals call it, they are in a long distant relationship. How WONDERFUL! Vanguard 1 has RELAYED some news to me. As a result, I have a PREMONEEEEETION. The vessel of Alejandro Sanchez will end up in MANCHESHTAAAHHH. YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
