a namechange to CSPURS is long overdue tbh. I avoid the La Liga thread and I think it has something to do with the fact PL reigns supreme on GL for discussion but you definitely talk more about Spurs than you do Barca and have for a couple years now.

CR2D2 or CBasketball, We've tried enough. Its time for him to choose for next season. Atleast Sports is open about smashing whichever team he plays and winning 3 medals from 4 teams, CB isn't, We need an intervention @RG @BC @Mc its time

They did win some away games last year but no points at all this year.Unique wrote:just been told that arsenal have not won a single prem lge away game all season. that cant be true
Just checked that they are 16th in table as far as away record is concerned, tied with WBA.. wow. It's a miracle that they are 6th in the league.

If Mole hasn't had to admit to being a Barca fan and BC hasn't had to admit to being a Spurs fan, I'm cool with where I'm at
@unique you're right, Poch does seem like he's on the way out

Eh, they're achieving more consistent and better results than any time in their color TV history. Spurs are a small time club, what Poch has done for them has been brilliant. They're undoubtedly the best club in London right now. When has that been true in the color TV era? All of this on a shoestring budget.
Imagine spending 500 million and going out to Sevilla in the RO16 with one of the worst CL performances I've ever witnessed.
At least Spurs left their Brexit League blood sweat and tears in Turin and played Juventus well the whole way through. A Brexit performance from a Brexit team. Man U looked like a poor man's Milan

It really isn't. Arsenal have the second best home record in the league, with 15 wins from 19 games. If their away form wasn't abysmal and anything approaching normal they'd be in the top four.

We broke our own record of having the most home wins this season since like forever. Weird contrast comparing it to our away form.
However, even if we did somehow manage to get 30 more away points this season. We still would finish 2nd. Shows how amazing city were.

Sevilla > Juve tbh
Just battered Madrid. Beat Atleti. Drew twice with CL finalists Pool. Tight game with Bayern. Better results this season by far.
No shame in going out to them. Spurs are the best team in London this season, but only because the other teams have been horrific by their own standards, not because Poch is some genius, because in fact he's never won a damn thing in his career. While the others have during his time there.

Sevilla had 3 coaches this season. You basically lost to the Spanish Palermo coached by Montella. Gets the easiest draw and still loses

doesn't matter if they've gone through a few coaches, they still, objectively, have better wins than you do this season and have performed at a higher level as a result IMO. NO need to be mad at that statement.

Sevilla are 7th in a 1 team league. Can't even boast about the 6th place trophy like Milan

Reds on the verge of their best defensive campaign since 2009
If Liverpool keep a clean sheet against Brighton at Anfield on Sunday it will be their 17th in the Premier League this season. They haven’t achieved that many shut-outs in a campaign since Rafa Benitez’s final year in charge in 2009/10.
The £75million signing of Virgil van Dijk has undoubtedly brought a greater sense of calm, organisation and leadership to Klopp’s backline with Dejan Lovren benefiting from the presence of the Dutchman alongside him.
Teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold has blossomed at right-back, while Andy Robertson has been a revelation on the other flank since his £10million move from Hull City. Behind them, Loris Karius has enjoyed a revival since being re-installed as the club’s No 1 in January.
Klopp’s team have only conceded 10 league goals at Anfield during the current campaign and that represents their best effort defensively since they leaked just seven under Benitez in 2006/07. Put into context, Liverpool let in 18 league goals at home last season and 22 the year before.

So basically, Unique's rants about Klopp doesn't do defense were categorically wrong.

Not entirely, It's taken Klopp a little longer than expected to sort the defense out (Still need to replace atleast 2 players in the back 5) and we are still a disaster waiting to happen albeit now its talked about only when we lose.

Final day of the season lads. Can't speak for the rest of you but it's been one of the most bland in recent memory. City won the league by like October and it feels like the top 4 has been the same since then too. Still, never happy to have GOAT league on break for a few months but it's a welcome thing that the World Cup is happening this summer.
Hope to see all of you again next season and of course it's Hala Brighton today and Forza Chelsea

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 9 - The End
Last two seasons have been pretty bad overall, imo. Two Champions who won the title by a distance with no real competition at any point.
One notable thing this season has been the complete collapse of mid-table. A couple of years back you had Everton, Southampton and Swansea at least threatening the EL places. Now Swansea are going down, Southampton have just about stayed up and Everton are meh.
Mid-table now is just Burnley, Everton and Leicester while everyone else has flirted with relegation all season. 10th to 15th are separated by two points ffs and then there's a six point gap from 10th to 9th.
Think this is going to be the norm for a while, too. Barring Leicester-like miracles, only six teams in the league are capable of winning the league, and even among those six there are two or three you wouldn't fancy. The gap between those six and the rest of the league is massive, whereas the difference between those remaining 14 teams is really small.
Ideally you'd want to a six-way title race or something but so far we've had two outstanding Champions who have won the title in April
