3-0. Auba pen.
Feels unfair playing him against a non-league side.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
A couple of observations:
- Willock is playing as the deepest midfielder, Maitland-Niles is pushing up and drifting into wide positions.
- Auba and Nelson are keeping the width out of possession. They're only coming inside when the ball is in the final third.
Things to look out for throughout pre-season.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
Nelson makes it 4-0.
Laca's deflected cross sat up nicely for Nelson to bring down and volley in.
Started from Smith-Rowe doing very well to win the ball back in his own half.

Boreham Wood's number 9s is giving Sokratis the run around
5-0 now though. Auba on the break, sets-up Laca.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
7-0. Reine-Adelaide rills one in from distance.
If he stays fit through pre-season, I don't see why he couldn't compete for a spot in the first team squad.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
Guendouzi comes on for Reine-Adelaide for the final 15 minutes. Looks like he's going to play next to Chambers in midfield. Ramsey is now playing further up.
Macey and Akpom the only ones not to get a run-out so far today.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
8-0 FT.
The first half-team played with a lot of intensity and pace. Aubameyang and Lacazette continue to link-up very well, and they were ably supported by the kids in midfield. At the back, Sokratis struggled with their centre forward (who looked really strong and quick) and there were a few casual moments. No doubt just early pre-season rust.
The second half was a more controlled affair. Arsenal played the game in Boreham Wood's half and were clinical when chances came along.
This was more or less an audition for the young players to be included in the Singapore tour. With Elneny, Iwobi and Özil returning to training next week, not everyone will be able to go. The fact we didn't see Macey or Akpom today suggests they're not being considered. Jenkinson (whose technique looked a step below the rest of the team) probably won't go, so Chambers can play right back. Osei-Tutu could go as left back cover.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
Arsenal played a behind closed doors friendly against Crawley Town this evening.
The final score was 9-0 Arsenal. Two goals each from Lucas and
Lacazette, one each from Reine-Adelaide, Nketiah, Nelson, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang.
Leno played his first game.
No highlights as of yet. Nobody knew they'd even be playing today.
Makes sense, though. We had a gap in the fixture list before the squad flies to Singapore this weekend.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
We will now be playing Lazio in Stockholm on August 4th instead of Sevilla.
The squad for Singapore should be announced soon. Apparently, Smith-Rowe will travel. Ozil, Elneny and Iwobi will join up with the squad as well, while the other World Cup plays will join up with the squad after the tour.
So it's looking like Monreal, Lichtsteiner, XHAKA, and Torreira will get at least two weeks of pre-season training in before the opening game of the season.

Re: Pre-Season 2018
The squad that will fly out to Singapore:
Keepers: Bernd Leno, Petr Cech, Emi Martinez
Defenders: Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, Dinos Mavropanos, Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac, Jordi Osei-Tutu
Midfielders: Mohamed Elneny, Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Willock, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil, Emile Smith-Rowe, Reiss Nelson, Alex Iwobi
Forwards: Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Lucas Perez, Eddie Nketiah
Jeff-Reine Adelaide is the only notable absentee. It's possible that he's going to be sent out on loan.
Omissions of Jenkinson and Akpom indicate they're going to be sold.
Lucas' inclusion suggests he's in Emery's plans, for the time being.
There's only one recognised left back in the squad, so I think Osei-Tutu will cover there while Chambers covers at right back.
