Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Wow you were right.
Tarantino must be on Acid when he made this film. One of his worst. Pitt and Di Caprio were immense though.
Such a disappointment. I don't know who he made this film for. Maybe it was for the hollywood as a sort of catharsis.
He really could have cut an hour from it and it wouldn't have mattered.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
maybe he is going for more of a period style piece with it in that case we should probably pay attention to the radio or conversations being had at that time as it might be some sort of cultural commentary attached to it
who knows, i'll give my opinion of course when i eventually go see it

It definitely had that but it felt like he was treating the audience like idiots. More to talk about that when you see it.
But this film really had no purpose other than character study and even in that aspect many have done it better.
Still had positives though. The grand tarantino finish as you expect. The soundtrack. best acting i have seen all year.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
So i watched Lost Highway last night, and of course I Lynchian loved it. I was particularly soaked in by the first part of the film. The way he literally films movies so that you can sense they are memory glimpses is spectacular and this movie might be his peak in doing all of that - his camera angles, blocking, composition - everything literally caters to memories and dream understanding. The second part of the movie caught me a bit off guard, and it took a while for me to get on track with the movie again.
Will need to rewatch all of Lost Highway, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive more in the future to definitely decide which one is my favourite. They're all masterpieces though.

This coming from the guy who gave Warcraft 9/10?
Also nonsensical reply to me given how much people on here have given me shit for not liking the movies they do. And my ratings of movies are public lol

Christopher Robin (2018) --- 7.4/10
It would be wrong to say that the story leaves something to be desired. Particularly when you compare it with the charming adventures that we are so used to in the "Winnie the Pooh" series (or is that nostalgia speaking for me?). However, I had a really good time watching this film. Despite the fairly average plot, Ewan McGregor is wonderful as the older Christopher Robin, and Jim Cumming's performance as Pooh transported me back to a more simple time. Cummings was marvelous, and just about every scene with Pooh in it are the best ones in the film.
One of my favorite characters, and series, from childhood. I would recommend it to any Winnie the Pooh fans, if only to experience that silly, dumb but confoundingly philosophical bear.
I do truly believe Winnie the Pooh to be a character of the highest quality when it comes to children's books.

Unless Larry Fishburne signs on, I have no real reason to see a new Matrix movie tbh.

I thoroughly enjoyed Outlaw King and this looks just as good.
Now I need to go back and watch Brannagh's Henry V.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
LAAAAADS i found a film today that is instantly one of my all time personal favourites and it might be better than Inception. Because you can see the inspiration that Inception took from it big time, Nolan actually shamelessly copied some scenes. I'm interested in such a case do studios have to pay the original film's studio a "sampling" kind of fee like they do in music when obviously copying like that? @Freeza you might know
Anyway the film is called Open Your Eyes (1997), and it apparently also got a largely American remake in Vanilla Sky.
