CSKA are playing better at the moment. Their lead is deserved.

Too many players that aren't the needed quality to represent Real Madrid... the CF being on top of that list.

funny thing is you are only one player down from the team that won 3 on the spin.sportsczy wrote:Too many players that aren't the needed quality to represent Real Madrid... the CF being on top of that list.

Ramos is not playing. Marcelo is not playing. Modric is not playing. Bale is not playing. Ronaldo is not playing. And Carvajal has been subbed off due to injury.

fair play then. losing to CSKA is expected with players out.The Demon of Carthage wrote:Unique wrote:funny thing is you are only one player down from the team that won 3 on the spin.sportsczy wrote:Too many players that aren't the needed quality to represent Real Madrid... the CF being on top of that list.

Madrid have now gone 5 halves, over 225 minutes, without scoring a goal Bale, Asensio and Benzema would score those 40+ CR7 goals, they said.

Well, you have Bale, Ramos, Marcelo Isco and now Carvajal all injured. Modric rested. And Ronaldo is missing because we sold him because we thought Benzema and Bale were good enough.

But we signed Courtois because that was really the biggest necessity.

Absolutely. The key is to always spend sensibly and carefully. Do not go after world beaters, they are really expensive. Sign a bunch of nobodies, sell your best player and replace him with a goalkeeper.

And people got really angry at me (and you too) DoC for being appalled by our transfer policy recently. What did people think could happen? All the kids we buy turn into the next Mbappe??

You need Martial for when Zidane takes over from Mourinho. Together, they'll guide you to your fourth European crown.
But please, for the love of god, do NOT send Mourinho our way. Something tells me the Madrid job is going to be vacant by December and I would rather it stays that way than to have it filled with Mourinho.

^ CSKA is actually the army team ... wtf was that Akinfeev red btw? Reminded me of Gattuso sending off in Milan derby 9 years ago for clapping a referee decision.

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group G
^ It was Sneijder , not Gattuso
My fav Russian team is Spartak because they evoke my first (sweet) football memories during R9 era. i know CSKAras are very turbulent, I watched Inter- CSKA quarter CL 09/10 at San Siro, and I remember they were boisterous (luckily no damages).
It's very relevant how it's happened NOTHING in Russia between hooligans (Just thinking to Euro 2016)
Anyway as I believed, It is not so easy this group for Roma.. because Russian teams always pose hidden dangers. Even us in 2010 risked to be knocked out in a Sovietic group (Rubin, Dinamo Kiev).
Roma have already been knocked out from CSKA in 2014.
It was ugly experience but not even the worst thing : Roma signed Doumbia after it.

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group G
injuries cannot excuse this. before the season started everyone knew we had injury prone players, to think that as players get older they would get even more fit is ridiculous. poor planning altogether, but hey, the manager himself said he wasn't asking for any players at the start of the season. i hope we can start obsessing about defensive type football instead of how many times we can pass the ball in the middle of the park. giving away that kind of goal was plain amateurish, that's something i expect from castilla level defenders.....and the coaching staff needs to start obsessing about that, than fancy passing football

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group G
Good win today. It's only Plzen so this is basically to the CL what the Frosinone win was to us in Serie A: A much needed moral booster.
Dzeko scoring a perfect hat trick was a highlight as well as Kluivert and Under getting in on the action. 2nd consecutive game with Lorenzo Pellegrini playing really well too. EDF seriously needs to stick with this formation. It's unmistakable how suited these players are for it over his much-loved 4-3-3.

Young Boys, Pilzen and others are needed to give clubs from smaller leagues exposure and money. Some day, an exceptional group from one of those leagues might go far in the CL.
