More or less agreed

His last good album was Encore like 15 years ago. Whoever still worships him is probably doing so because of nostalgia. He was huge for us 90s kids.

Wasn't really directed at you, more at @Warrior. I know you listen to some new stuff, at least I think you do.

From what I've seen of friends and acquaintances, its mostly because life was way easier and fun in uni/high school days and hearing music from back then brings back those memories.

Gambino's new album, or as he calls it his hour long single track project feels like his magnum opus. Its like a fusion of all his projects. And if you like his work, you'll like this.

Uzi Vert's Eternal Atake is average. Disappointing after all the hype and build up.

No active R&B thread here, so might as well talk about Weeknd's new album here. I prefer his older work but I appreciate how he changed the style and aesthetic of After Hours. He could have stayed with what makes him popular but he evolved and its good, not bad at all. I'm just a huge fan of the Trilogy era Weeknd. House Of Balloons is in my top 5 album of the decade and he also did 50% of the work Drake's best ever album. Guy certified himself as a legend with After Hours.

He's a smart businessman. While other scoff and mock TikTok he released a song that caters 100% to that audience and it became #1 song worldwide and is gonna give his album millions more streams.
