Camavinga Empty Camavinga

Post by Mr Nick09 Wed Apr 22, 2020 11:16 pm

i miss footy, been following this "saga" through Marca in the past few weeks and it's looking like we might be heading towards his signature.

For the profile, he is perfect in that we can he can defend and he can play box to box and in front of the defense as well. Not quite Casemiro but it is essential to bring someone like him in the team, specially if Odegaard is coming back.

Looking at a Kroos, Casemiro, Valverde, Odegaard, Camavinga, Isco and maybe Modric midfield. this is good.

He's nowhere near as good as Casemiro defensively at this point because he's a kid (17 years old) and isn't strong enough yet. He'll grow.

I'd prefer to see him as a B2B for us... he can break lines, decent technique and passes well. Brings athleticism which we sorely need in the midfield.

To put it in perspective, he's 4 years younger than Valverde. If you put Casemiro/Valverde/Camavinga on the pitch, that's a lot of athleticism.

Agreed I find h too young as well. I read the article.on Marca today and I am glad they are talking about potentially signing him and leaving him at Rennes another season at least. That would be the sensible thing.

I know we will try to get pogba again that's still the priority

I don't think he'd survive at Madrid if he came now. The kid needs to play. I would STRONGLY recommend him NOT to sign for Madrid if they plan on bringing him over immediately.

So is he a defensive midfielder like Casemiro?

Or is he deep lying like Xabi Alonso

Or a worker /box to box like Valverde or Khedira

He is versatile, but probably at his best in a 2 man midfield

Could form a staggering partnership with Valverde and Odegaard if they develop properly

Congrats

there was a time when I thought Brazzo was going to get him for us and that thought made me happy

now instead we have Sabitzer, yikes.

(shouldn't say that, Sabitzer is a good player)

Sabitzer is great and underrated. Def not a bad signing for bayern.

Camavinga is young and 2 of our mids are either retiring or leaving in 2 years. Perfect situation

Great buy. We must be putting a lot of faith into our forward line. I believe rodrygo and vini with bale rotating isn’t the worst thing in the world. As long as they make the jump this year. Vini literally just need to add finishing to their game and rodrygo needs more physicality. Vini has started to show that.

Finishing, passing, use of his weaker foot, understanding when to dribble and when to not, more understanding of the concept "running into channels", diving properly, etc.

Just a few things that Vini may need to learn outside of finishing.

Camavinga Empty Re: Camavinga

Post by The Madrid One Sat Sep 04, 2021 1:47 am

Have to watch much more of him but very promising here.

Have thought for a while that a midfield ala Essien(Makalele)-Lampard-Ballack is the way to go, physicality, versatility, and technique combined. Camavinga, Valverde, and we still need a couple more great young midfield signings as we look towards the next decade. Reinier Jesus might have something to say-if he decides what kind of player he even is.

I'm still of the opinion that not developing Fede at LCM with more of a ball distribution role is a wasted opportunity, he's not particularly good in tight spaces (which he'll see more of in the RCM role) and that RCM role he now has is something he can do well but which more often that not will only highlight his work ethic and physicality. At LCM he could probably get more space and time to dictate from certain angles while still going up and down the flank. No coincidence peeps like Alonso or Kroos mostly play(ed) in LCM sectors and not RCM. Fede hasn't been given any context to develop that sort of game yet but in his earlier youth that was seemingly his direction.

I don’t agree. Vini is a good passer and he is the best dribbler on the team. So yes you want him to run at players. Without dribblers possession turns stale and defenses do not get broken down. He is a big reason the offense is clicking with his link up play. With speed like vini the defense has to respect the speed and the opposing team are deeper and more conservative as a result.

Yeah but that’s just not his style to be making runs constantly. Also you are completely forgetting his defensive work rate which is a huge reason whoever plays left back has a greater attacking license.

He literally just needs to keep scoring goals. Sorry but I disagree with your whole premise. You want vini to be a different kind of player and that’s just not gonna happen

Camavinga Empty Re: Camavinga

Post by Chad31 Sun Sep 05, 2021 1:57 am

Camavinga has a lot of talent, great athlete and high football IQ, good signing doesn't seem like the show boat type, just gets on with it quickly which makes things easier for him to integrate into the setup, hope he does well and fill the shoes of modric or kroos, seems like can do a combination of both.

the great thing about his signing means that modric or kroos can take a break or be injured, the midfield can function properly with no real drop off, cause it works with fede and one of kroos/modric is missing, so Camavinga-fede partnership is gonna be solid, just based on the fact that both do a lot of similar things, and have high ceilings as midfielders.

Camavinga needs to be relied upon quickly no more struggles with the Spanish lads, just play the player who knows how to play the position properly, di maria only gonna happen once, that because he had all the tools and ran enough for two players.

Vini looks alot better now because he is maturing as a player, and I'm sure his team is seeing the up coming transfers, so he gotta get it together now cement his place, and play properly instead just running around blindly, he can be a very good to great as a footballer if he reads the game more and plays smarter, running nonstop into blind alleys in must win games is why he got criticism from benzema someone who clearly believes in him, he has been trying to clean up his game since, which is good cause it suck to see him be good for someone else, when all he has to do is calm down, look up and think a little he can do everything else quite easily, not every play as to be a show stopper the game is 90 mins

You know, Asensio kinda deserves the good riddance treatment but Isco and Bale would leave here knowing they genuinely helped us win things (to some extent).

I wouldn't personally give them the good riddance but I wouldn't really shed a tear for either leaving. Their time at the club has long expired imo.

Agreed. Although even Asensio contributed to our wins but sporadically compared to those two. I think Asensio's quote of not wanting to take responsibility will haunt his RM career. That was the words of a mental midget
