Knowing Perez, if he has accepted to pay Alaba that much, it means 10m are going to be freed somewhere else.

Varane to Man U imo. Honestly, Alaba/Militao and Nacho as the backup is workable. Varane and Ramos pairing had its time.

Madrid need to spend on strikers.

Have Ramos for one more year or have Varane for 7-8 years as our most experienced CB?

The answer is easy, but both of them will likely end up leaving.

Alaba is a nice attrition as he can play several positions, defender, left back and as a defensive midfield which will give Casemiro a breathing space when he needs a rest.

My biggest worry is that is he good enough as a central defender? I know his abilities as a left back, but I know we didn't get him to start there.

How has he been as a central defender?

maybe hans can answer but I know hes been CB for Bayern for a while now
