Italy wasted 323 chances against N. Macedonia and Dolarumma failed too save an easy chance at the end.

Italy should have qualified easily if not two wasted pens by Jorginho, but it was evident that Mancini's plan simply doesn't work without Spinazzola on the left, and he never adjusted for that.

Also, the offensive players profiles without the injured Chiesa is not complimentary.

Still, they easily had the chances to score three goals at least this game, but they bottled it. In the end, they lost their head at the end instead of going for extra time.

Absolutely pathetic, but very unlucky as well.

All of us supporting Italy were worried about Portugal but couldnt even go through Macedonia.

Truth is post Euros Italia did NOT look the same at all and was just disbanded by profiles and structure of the team losing its shape and ideals all over the place.

The loss against España in the Nations League was one then the lack of killer instinct in qualifiers.

Lets all laugh more at Jorginho who was hyped to death for his penalties (even by me).

Not only this clown missed the penalty in the final, he missed two of the crucial penalties that literally caused Italy to the playoffs itself.

Mancini's fault was trusting him for it. Jorginho was huge in the Euros but its mostly on him individually as the myth of his penalties hopefully is gone with his now fucking annoying hop-step.


The entire Euro backline was missing for Italy and then of course no goalscoring threat and with clutch meister Chiesa out.

If Italia went through here they'd lose to Portugal.

Its hard to point fingers given Mancini is who built this brilliant Italy but failed to find replacements for it and put trust in players who continued to fail. Namely Immobile, Jorginho (for pens) and maybe even Berardi who like nicht so Mobile didn't replicate his club form.

2 times in a row. TWICE.

At least they miss the World Cup no one wants to be associated with the worst location of all time in barren Qatar but hurts the progress of vital youngsters and now the Mancini saga is at close.


I prefer him on more so because I dont want Cannavaro in given I dont see what he really offers or has done anything of note.

1990 France was not very good.  The golden midfield had just retired (Platini, Giresse, Tigana) and there was a team identity issue.  1994 miss was a heartbreaker.  Lost to Bulgaria in the last second...  cost the manager his job (Gerard Houllier) and Cantona/Ginola were never allowed back on the NT (which was stupid).

It was actually a big challenge to qualify to the WC back then. Far harder than today.
