GOATED 1st half by Brazil, but there were a few warning signs. It could have been 4-3 or 4-4 if Alisson was not Alisson. Then again, Raphinha and Richarlison could have easily made it 6-0 or 7-0.

Against Croatia I really would start Bruno over Paqueta. He might have missed sitters but he much better at midfield. Neymar won't have to play so deep either.

I think Portugal is doing pretty well too. They can go all the way till Semi and may come short vs the likes of France/England.

Boufal has been terrific. No other offensive ppayer on his level for both teams

Why should Morocco play open? To be picked apart ala Costa Rica. Morocco have actually had the best chance. Maybe if Spain didn't make 1000 passes between their defenders and actually played end to end we'd see a more fun game

Unless you have prime Xavi you can’t win the World Cup playing tikinaccio. You need difference makers who can change the pace in attack and they had no one. When your first two penalty kick takers are Sarabia and Soler you know you have a problem.

Once again, for the nth time: Possession is not something to be held up to the pedestal. 77% possession but not a single goal to show for it can only mean Spain played very poorly. Morocco deserved this triumph I felt they were more threatening with what little scraps they've had.

This result reminds me why I will always look down on possession teams. Ain't nobody got time to watch yourself masterbate. If you can't score goals then what's the point? Football isn't a beauty contest. Nor is there a technical score on points like in boxing. What ultimately matters is the scoreline. And spain paid dearly for their toxic emphasis on possession.

Enrique and Spain are a disaster, at 70 minutes they had a single shot, not even on goal, just shots overall. Deserved to go out.

Spain has played 11 matches in a world cup since winning in 2010 and only won 3 (Australia, Iran, Costa Rica)
