Good win 4-0 at Bordeaux.

After three consecutive defeats and 6 points lost in the last 2 league match, the team reacted in a good way. It was an unexpected victory as Bordeaux was the second best defense of the league and conceded very few defeats. They also had beaten us in the first match, 2-0, in one of the biggest hold up of the year.

The young players made a statement today. Grenier had a great match, scoring the first goal and adding another with a penalty while being able to pass through Bordeaux's lines. Fofana scored another goal, he recentrly started to shoot more and is showing good shooting skills even if he is average in the open play.

Lacazette finished the score. Gonalons was a boss as usual. It's really impressive how good and reliable he has become. Truly one of the best DM.

I think it's time to sell Gomis and Lisandro. Lyon were much better when those two were off.

Lyon should sign a CB, a Striker and maybe Alessandrini with the money

I think we should sign two wingers, for both sides.

Lacazette best role is striker, not winger. He is fast, technical, and make great run while being able to beat his man. He also shoot very well.

I would sell Gomis, keep Lisandro, replace Lacazette as a striker and put Benzia instead of Gomis numerically in the squad.

Briand is likely to leave too. We will absolutely need wingers even if Lacazette is not replaced.

Do you think Ghezzal is good enough for lyon ?

He has showed shades of talent, qualities of dribbles and crosses but he is still very green. The staff believe in him obviously, he is getting tons of playing time.
Currently his level is average, but will depend if he can be consistant. They are giving him so much matchs and it proves they believe strongly in him.

He is weak in the finish, light on the defensive side. Next season will be make or break for him. He has potential.

I would rather not see him starting matchs, but since Bastos left, it is either him or Lisandro as a left winger. He has been better coming in from the bench. Anyway, he will be better than Pied and Mounier.

After Gonalons, Lacazette and Grenier who are definitely good enough, others young players will be tested. Umtiti is making the team on a regular basis.

Outside Ghezzal, I think that Benzia has a great role to play. Ferri and Martial will have to prove something themselves in the near future.

Very good match between us and Lorient at Gerland.

Lorient quickly opened the score with a goal from Alliadiere on corner. Lisandro equalized shortly after. The Argentinan looked sharp, forcused, the best he has been in a while. His touches were good, his runs very dangerous and he scored a good goal. Definitely a very good showing. The match was even in the first half, very open, with opportunities from both sides. We had some very bad loss of the ball which almost costed us two goals. The first one, Lorient player takes the ball from Reveillere who was ball watching and directly hit the post. The other time Grenier makes a back pass that ends in a gift for a Lorient player.

But after the first half, it was all good for us. We did not make a single mistake in the second half and we added another gear. We had possession and created multiples chances. Finally Ghezzal and Mvuemba both scored their first goals.

The Players:

Vercoutre: Costed us the first goal, bad decision making. He just try to box every ball, and never actually try to catch it. Very poor. He also looked lost on another corner and ended trying to block a player with his body on the ground. He did make a good save in the first. 4/10

Reveillere; Made an awful mistake that almost costed us the goal but was more composed after. 6/10

Lovren: Got a yellow card and gave away some freeckicks. Still a decent match. 6/10

Bisevac: He was solid, blocked well his player, was always in cover at the right time. 7/10

Umtiti: The kid is just so easy with the ball, I bet he is taking a lot of fun while playing. Flawless match, was involved in one goal, made good cross, was bringing attacking threat and did not get beaten on his side. 8/10

Gonalons: Slightly less impressive than in the last few match, but still strong. 7/10

Malbranque: Played a solid match, was the perfect link of the team, and was involved directly in our very fluid passing. 7/10

Grenier: Very bad in the first half, losing the ball a lot, very good and accurate in the second. 6/10

Lacazette: Beasting on his right side, the Lorient defended will have nightmare of him. The two first goals came from his side, he was beating players easily, made tons of dangerous crosses, combined well with Lisandro and the midfield.

Ghezzal: Scored his first goal, right moment right place, but was much less of a threat than Lacazette was. His timing seemed off and he did not find a lot of successes with the dribble as well. Still decent 6/10

Lisandro: Sharp, focused, dangerous, skilled. Beautiful player. 8/10

Team play: 8/10

Mvuemba (scored a goal) Benzia and Ferri came as substitutions.

A total of 8 players from the academy played for us, and 6 started the match. Great job done by the gones.

Garde should make us a favour and resign immediately.

Losing 4-1 at Bastia, losing at home 2-1 against relegable Sochaux. What can I say more? We had 15 days to prepare this match.

We aren't playing anything else anymore. All our focus is on the championshipo and we can not get any victory. We are litterally falling a part. Marseille just passed us and it is not over. Saint Etienne and Lille are coming back very strong and will take over for the third spot.

We won't play an european competition next year. We are just weak, no ambition, no motivation. Garde is killing the club.

Grenier scored a great goal at the 93th minute to earn the precious 2-1 victory away at Montpellier. The match was a bit of a hold up after the second half, but for once that something goes well for us, it was about time.

Grenier also had an assist to Lisandro for the first goal.

Yea Lisandro was in tears when he left. Has been an amazing player for Lyon. Respect really.

Grenier has been amazing since December. Scandal that Gourcuff was chosen to NT before him... but he got in thankfully.

Grenier is France's only hope for a top notch AM in the near future. Hope he stays at Lyon and doesn't do something stupid like go to Arsenal and get benched by Cazorla.

I want french clubs to keep their players. It's about time we stopped being whores to foreign clubs.

There are chance that Grenier will leave, he doesn't seem very interested by the club... He is very green, hasn't even played a full ligue 1 season as a starter. Leaving would boost his wages, but would freeze his career. He isn't ready to move, has been injured quite often and hasn't reached his top level yet.

Moving could just prevent him from going to the 2014 WC.

In other news, Gonalons is staying and we are close to Corchia, but Sochaux is asking 5 millions for the moment.

Also there will probably be a lot of move.

Lisandro and Reveillere are leaving. Briand will be kicked out as he is in a legal battle with the club and we already tried to kick him to Monaco last winter.

Grenier and Gourcuff could leave. I don't imagine Lovren staying as well.

That's a lot to change. Benzia, Martial and Lacazette will take over the striking positions.

Watch out for Monaco with Corchia... they're going to make a move on him if Lyon take too long imo.

Apparently Grenier doesn't want to renew, according to L'Equipe.

He is hurting his career but I hope that we can get 7-8 millions off him for his last year of contract. Hope he won't make the WC if we qualify.

Meanwhile, Aulas is very strongly pushing Gomis out of the club, even advising him in medias to find a new club and to choose it well to put him under the light to make the WC lights.

Hint he would not play if he was staying here. Lisandro could stay if Gomis GFTO.

Aulas is not making a lot of friends with how he's been treating players lately...  losing Grenier is just the first consequence of his bullying.  There will be others imo.  You can't expect loyalty if you don't give it as well.  Grenier was sold if not for Gourcuff's injury in December.  I think any warm feelings Grenier had for Lyon disappeared then unfortunately.
