OFFICIAL: Neymar Is Doomed
Neymar, 19, has been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs this summer, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City. The striker currently plays for Pele's former club and the three-time World Cup winner acknowledges it may be a challenge to persuade him to stay with Santos.
"I think it is very difficult to keep him in Brazil,'' Pele told Press Association Sport. "Santos is my team and he started there with us. I hope he stays there until more or less the 2014 World Cup but it will be a little difficult to keep him here.
"He is a good player, there's no doubt. He will be like a Kaka, a Messi - of that there is no doubt. Or a Ronaldo, a Zico, a Pele.
"He is an excellent player. I hope that he does [reach his potential]."
Chelsea and Manchester City have been mooted as potential destinations for Neymar and reports suggested he was close to leaving Brazil last summer.
Neymar was a rare shining light in Brazil's disappointing Copa America campaign this summer, which saw their tilt at glory curtailed at the quarter-final stage after a penalty shoot-out defeat to Paraguay.

He said some good compliments about Chicha and he went on to be MVP and top goal scorer of the Gold cup. So maybe lol.

Lol, he throws around names like Kaka and Messi so easily like it's no big deal to be as good as them, what a joke.

This guy should shut up it looks like he knows nothing about this sport!!! He was a legend no doubt, but that was a loooooooong time ago he should focus on his life! Neymar is a hot prospect thats about it, he hasn't proven anything yet so lets just wait and see.

Looks like you dont know anything about the sport! Neymar put Santos on his back in the Libertadores and they won. People that actually follow South American football know how hard it is to win the Libertadores. To me thats proving something!Or you don't rate the Libertadores?

Re: OFFICIAL: Neymar Is Doomed
i think neymar should get a team soon out of santos...
he should start his game with a new team while he is hot.
as much as i think he is great still prefer morata over him.
so hope hell find his new team not to end the rumours in madrid

Actually, Pelé said that Spain were favourites last year for the WC, and they won it. The jinxing is no more.

Well guessing that the favorites to win it isnt too impressive. Granted I didnt think they would.
I guess anything is a step up from his usual.

Yes , and my point was that after he said that about Spain, many people thought he'd jinxed them and they wouldn't do it. So his jinxing seems to have lost its power .
Romário once said a very wise thing: "The silent Pelé is a poet."
