Canales to Valencia

Mourinho wasted his years in Madrid imo. He cant develop a player like Canales.

Canales, 20, had a muted first season at the Santiago Bernabeu after signing for Jose Mourinho's from Racing Santander last summer in a reported €4.5m deal.

It isnt like Canales is blameless.Its stupid of him to join a club before the coach was decided.You cant fault Mourinho for not including a player who was not part of his plans.

actually the plan was to loan him back to santander to continue his progress there but mourinho gave him a go to join madrid last season. so he was part of the plan of mourinho.

Not really shaven, he didnt want to go on loan, and valdano didnt want it either. Valdano made the decision before mourinho arrived in madrid.

not really? so mourinho doing the call wasnt true as well? i thought when he did the signing last season was all his call. i wanna see consistency.

well, you at least ask the player if he wants to go back, we arent dealing with meat

mourinho started making his calls when he arrived in madrid in person. back then, valdano was still sporting director, so he had a lot of pull himself.

Is he going to come back? i cant predict for sure, but at least, he should focus on becoming the best player he can be.

I think Ozil was also a factor for him not seeing much playing time, many didn't expect him to be explosive last season. Canales also got injured during december and january if I'm not mistaken when he was expected to be starting some games with the tight schedule. Many factors affected him last year other than Mou wanting to bench him for the sake of it.

Uhmmm mouriho was in madrid around may and canales officially became a madrid player around july... So he was not mou's plan then i supposed.

But do you still think when we loan him which just happen still means he wont coming back? Loaning isnt an option with canales, did you said that before?

Unless i am mistaken Canales was a free signing and he signed a contract with Madrid in January itself.So yes he wasnt in Mourinho's planning when he was signed.

If i recall, we signed Mourinho at the end of May, after the CL, but he didnt directly took over in madrid. I think he went to have a chat with perez and that's around the time the names he was after started leaking out. He then went on vacation and only started training with madrid mid to end july, while the decision on Canales was made beginning of July.

Like i said, he just joined a new club, i dont think he was micro managing that much from the start, at least not to the extent of butting heads with valdano so early. We signed Pedro Leon while he was coach, and that was valdano's pick, for the life of me, mou would never sign him if he was scouting himself. The rest of the transfers however, he took care of them himself.

As for your question, let say that it's going to be difficult for him to come back. Ozil is going to be here a long time, and unless he turns into a monster, or develop in a very different role, then he is going to have a difficult time coming back. Never expected us to create a 3-4 year loan technique tho, so we have some room. If we do develop a 433 in the coming seasons, then there would be more openings.

Like i said he signed early last year but plan was he will be loan back to santander. Changed of plans happened when mou was already the manager. So its not hard tp understand he included him in the team.
So why would he get him for last years line up if he doesnt have a plan for him considering its his first season if he has an option not to include him. Mou isnt perfect, but unfortunately he really failed on canales.

He signed on loan for valencia for 2 seasons, and they have the option to buy at the end of each year for 12M.

But as soon as they activate the buying clause, we have a buy back for 2 years.

1 year was wasted with mou, but after mou he could bounce back in madrid

Valenica are becoming very competitive.

There was one slot in the starting 11 for both Ozil and Canales due to Kaka's injury, initially Canales was the first choice, but he was overtaken by Ozil who hasn't looked back since. I really don't blame Mourinho much, it was either him or Ozil and Ozil came out tops.

Ozil was really the first choice of mou obviously. Thats why he is his signing. No one expecting canales to start at the first place.

On paper yes, but i have always felt the problem with team's outside the top 2 that mentality was the main problem not quality.

Thats good, but Im sure Valencia will activate the clause pretty damn soon, meaning we cant get him back next year or the year after? Id like to know who is going to replace Kaka as Ozil's backup.
