Arda Turan signs for Atletico

Maybe they finally try a new formation, that 4-4-2 is out dated

Well, they offered 13.5M + 2M variables so far.

I just dont know if Turan is a replacement for Diego. they might sign him as well, since he only costs around 5M from what i read on AS.

IMO if they wanted to do something, they should have built on success last year. Remember when after they won the Europa League some were afraid they would challenge the top 2? But as usual, Patetico choked and failed. Yeah, they are rebuilding now but most likely they will lose all the derbies against us and remain stuck in the EL places.

it's never been a 4-4-2 anyways not a flat one atleast, thier formation is very similar to United's a 4-4-1-1 tbh.

That look's good on paper but i doubt Diego would work in a 4-3-3, a 4-2-3-1 makes more sense.

I have the same concern to be honest, but that's just from the report i read on AS. Gabi is a decent playmaker but it's not enough. They asked for Borja but it didnt work. That's the kind of player they need, but sadly they dont run around the streets,

Atletico has a good squad and a good team. Even now, but look back to when they won the EL and that team is definintely enough to give Real or Barca even a run for their money back then. It is a fact that among the 'poor mentality' sides of Spain Atletico is chief. It shouldnt be OBVIOUS that we beat them in the derbies but we have for like 19 years running now so Patetico remains pathetic until they beat us.

Narrow 4-2-3-1 as Arsenal are doing is all I can see so many central players in.

So, lots of chances created but without a natural finisher it's all going to waste.

And raping time in counter-attacks.

If they manage to get Falcao that's a better choice than Forlan as the lone striker. And if Diego doesn't arrive then I see Forlan playing the ACM right behind a striker Adrian/Osvaldo/Falcao and Reyes and Turan on the wings.

De Gea might have left but Atletico has their Gk worries covered.
Asenjo is back from his loan and Thibaut has arrived. They both as we've seen have potential. And not speak of Joel Robles the new De Gea.

On Defense they have one of the best LB's around so that should them good. Decent Cb's i would say. With the addition of Miranda next to Godin and Dominguez should provide challenge in the CB position. At RB they're pretty weak with Juan Valera but Silvio can play there as well.

At the center they're packed but non are great.

I see a squad good enough to challenge top 4 i would think.
Even if they don't sign anyone else, they're squad is pretty deep

Diego and either one of Falcao or Osvaldo will make them a threat for the top 4.

With Malaga, Valencia, and Atletico all strengthening and Villarreal, Sevilla, and Athletic keeping most players from last year i see an exciting year.

They look stronger, I mean pathetico La liga will be fun

Still not learning the lessons of the past.

funny enough i had atletico on FIFA 11 and bought Diego, but he was horrible for me. i ended up getting fired from atletico. complete disaster
