The formation doesn't just work and this game proved it in a costly way. It's way too hazard to use 3-man-backline and Palermo showed it with four goals tonight. A 4-man-backline would work a lot better. For example some sort of 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2:

Zanetti was showing his legendary status today too.

Sums up the trident plus high defensive line...Benitez' high defensive line was defensive for this one.We all saw it coming...Managers are retarded.

lets look at the positives shall we ?

1- we now know for sure that the 3 man defense doesnt work
2- Obi and Alvarez were great despite the team sucking ass
3- Forlan is very mobile and can be very useful in the future
4- Milito is scoring again
5- Jonathan is a good siging and we can expect alot from him

So if Gasp has a little bit of sense in him he should use this match as an apportunity to learn, and there's really no shame in changing, coz after all Mourinho scratched his unconvincing 433 midway through the first season coz it didnt suit the players. Its up to Gasparini now, and if he doesnt shape up then Moratti's knee jerks are most welcome

the only positives about this match is that alvarez and obi are actually doing well when given the chance. they were bossing the midfield last night
