I think Abidal is better at LB than Arbeloa because that's his primary position. However Arbeloa is solid on both sides and gets the job done.

TBF, it's kinda disrespectful to compare a starter of Barca with a benchwarmer at Madrid.

Even though Arbeloa's awesome, I can't in good conscience say he's better than Abidal when he isn't even starting.

abidal is certainly better but hey come on its not by light years or by far ..we r not comparing messi and faubert here.. arbeloa is one of the most consistent defenders in europe .. abidals better but its close

I think Abidal is overall a better defender, and definitely better FB than Arbeloa, still if we are talking about the teams they play in...i think Abidal is by miles better for Barcelona's style of play, on the other hand Arbeloa is a hard defender when he's needed, but can't replace Marcelo, never.
