I don't know where you are getting your "facts" from, but they simply are not true. Read up on the history of the "drug war" and see exactly why the us government banned its use in the first place.

Medicinal marijuana is used for cancer patients to ease their pain in suffering- and yes that means it has been approved by doctors and some sort of board who makes decisions on matters like these

alcohol too

both legal, both for recreational use, both taxed by the government so that they can collect revenue
oh and both have worse effects on one's health

like i said, i don't believe in drug use but i can really see the argument from the other side

Agreed Luca, but drugs are worse than alcohol. Only bad thing with alcohol is that you can overdose, but unless you are a radical, a drink once in a while is fine. Not to mention wine is good for your health in moderation.

Drinking is far better than weed, though. Drugs in any sense of the word are bad. They are a gateway to more dangerous drugs.

drinking is not healthier nor less addictive than weed but are a means of relaxation and are abused by idiots that think its the cool thing to do...there is absolutely nothing wrong with weed or drinking unless you go overboard...it is a gateway drug though and if you smoke weed or drink excessively your more likely to bridge over to stronger shit...

Like I said, find me someone who has not done drugs and have them say it is not bad for you. I bet the alcoholic says the same thing as the drug addict.

I only smoke high quality organic stuff. You really shouldn't judge something you haven't done, there are many myths about smoking ganja. I've already posted a few things in the marijuana thread, feel free to check it out.

US government doesn't allow much testing to be done on marijuana, they already know the deal and don't want the truth to be let out. Do you even know the reason marijuana is illegal? It's a real joke.

You do know that the physiological effects of Alcohol are far more severe than Marijuana right? (And that Marijuana is not physically addictive)

You just opened up a can of worms mate. First of all the number 1 reason why Weed was banned in the early 1900's in several US states was because non whites smoked it. The man pretty much responsible for banning it at a federal level was Harry Anslinger. Some notable quotes:

Additonal factors was the potential "danger" the hemp industry would pose to the plastics/synthetics and timber industry(paper-wise) and is currently the #1 reason why it is still criminalized in the US. (apart from the inertia of it being banned for so long, and the "stigmas" associated with it.

Apart from the reefer madness propaganda in the 30's instigated by Anslinger the 2nd wave of government sponsored anti-marijuana propaganda came during the 60's/70's. I hope you're intelligent enough to figure out why the US government would start a second propaganda campaign during the 60's. Did you know that a 1974 study at the University of Virginia discovered that cannabinoids cause tumors to shrink and cancer cells to die (while leaving healthy cells alone.) It was never followed up because the Government only wanted to fund negative research.

You can die from alcohol withdrawal, how can you stand behind that statement?

There are a number of ways severe alcohol withdrawal can be fatal. Alcohol withdrawal causes autonomic hyperactivity which means it increases heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and breathing rate. If severe this can cause heart attacks, strokes, cardiac arrhythmia's, cardiovascular collapse or respiratory collapse. Withdrawal seizures can sometimes be fatal. Repeated vomiting and profuse sweating caused by the withdrawal can quickly lead to fatal dehydration. Alcohol withdrawal delirium (delirium tremens or the "DTs") is the most severe form of alcohol withdrawal. Delirium tremens is uncommon but if it develops and is left untreated it carries a mortality rate of up to 35%, mostly due to the severe cardiac disturbances that I described. But alcohol is not the only substance that can cause a lethal withdrawal syndrome. There is a class of drugs called "Sedatives, Hypnotics and Anxiolytics". You should check out a few marijuana movies and really learn about it, I'm not saying you should try it, but don't be one of those guys....
