Well, the really frustrating thing is that it could have been 3:1, too. Somehow it felt like a déjà vu from Borussia Dortmund's CL group matches. They were mostly playing better, but got overrun by their more experienced opponents. (BTW, and the Basel match was almost exactly the same - Basel had 66% possession and looked more dangerous, but they got overrun via just 4 lightning fast counters. They were just lucky it ended 1:2 and not 1:3 like BMG's match as Yann Sommer made a fantastic save in the 95th minute.)

Such a pity - BMG won 2:1 in Kiev, but it wasn't enough after KIev's 3:1 in the first leg. But then, BMG is happy to play in the EL too, as they haven't had any European matches for 16 years now.

Again very bad game... Gladbach in this season somehow collect points, but it doesn't looks good. I anticipated lose vs. Stuttgart, but I can't understand how they make such errors. 1-0 festival of mistakes (at first - Stark, then MAtS and misfortune of Dominguez), 2-0 - terrible behavior of Jantschke. 2 free goals for VfB, tragedy. Borussia doesn't have idea for game, maybe in next season Max Kruse will make a difference.

I hope to keep the EL qual place to the end.

Well, BMG should start winning some matches again. The rest of the season are

Augsburg (H)
Wolfsburg (A)
Schalke (H)
Mainz (A)
Bayern (H)

Of these particularly Augsburg, Schalke and Bayern will be very difficult.

I definately agree with what you've said .This season has been slightly tough for us. We just haven't been the same this season but we can understand when we lost 3 key players last summer who were the backbone of our system ( Reus, Dante Neustadter) . We just haven't been as fluid in attack as we were with Reus/Hanke - Arango - Herrmann either.

I'm very excited about next season and I am looking forward to it so much just because of the Kruse signing. I've watched him enough to know that it is a good signing and he is a good player. I can't believe Freiburg only bought him for € 500 000 , a true bargain for such a player if you ask me.

This signing will bring us more dynamite and versatility in our attacking options for sure because he's capable of playing numerous positions ! It will be a joy seeing him linkup with the likes of De Jong and Herrmann for sure. What I like about this player is that he suits our system in my opinion, he is a counter attacking threat, he's not afraid to play the ball off the ground and he loves to do layoffs. He will surely reinject our attack since he's a creative force as well as a fairly clinical force so we will get more goals as well since we often lacked them this season . However I do not like his work ethic , I feel he does not contribute enough defensively. Neutral

This guy has been indirectly responsible for about half or more of Freiburg's goals this season . Truly been there best performer this season by far. I saw somewhere the other day that he's on a list for the top 10 amount of chances created in Europe by a player . ( I saw on one of the statistics sites I go to that he's created 77 chances  Proud ) I even remember just last month how he destroyed us with his 2 goals against us.

Just hope he can help us improve and be one of our better recent signings because to be fair De Jong and Xhaka haven't worked out that well . ProXima what are you thoughts about our midfield duo? Before we sign anymore players I'd like them to be defensive signings since I've not been too impressed with us defensively.

Seriously? Surprised Woooooow.

I think that central midfield is ours weakest point. It is true that Nordtveit fulfilling expectations, but Marx is closer to the level of Greuther Furth than BMG. It's too bad that Xhaka (8,5 mio euro Neutral ) doesn't show anything interesting expect loses balls. More proposals for CM we don't have.

Therefore I hope we will strengthen this position a experienced DM. We need to look for new CB. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that time of Arango slowly coming to an end. No

Proxima did you hear or see the interview with Sporting Director, Max Ebert on May 30th??

If not here it is : http://www.borussia.de/english/season/news/borussia-news/news-detailansicht.html?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=8096&cHash=81a58bf328f534eb76992068939fe2ce

He seems content with the end of the season standings if you ask me and slightly acknowledged our failings in Europe as well as addressed this transition season for us.

He also talked about the signings we made too Very Happy ( Kruse and Kramer (only on loan ) . I guess you got what you wanted ; A defensive Midfielder in Kramer but he's not too experienced and especially not experienced in the Bundesliga so I don't know how he'll do .

In the interview he also says, when he's been asked to desrcibe the 2 signings : '' We’re still looking for one or two attacking players to give us even more pace, creativity and a greater threat in front of goal. ''
hmm

I don't mind it too much but there are other areas of the field I'd like to see reinforced more than the attacking part even though I felt we were a bit low on goals this season.Overall, we were 10th in goals scored and 8th in the least number of goals scored and ultimately we had a negative goal difference. Seems like we need reinforcements in all areas of the pitch.

It seems that Raffael will further strengthen the offensive. If Brasilian actually comes to team, then offensive would look like this:

------------de Jong------------
Kruse-------Raffael----Herrmann

At least I think so.
I think that Borussia should buy left/right back (opponent for Jantschke and Wendt) and young center back (future first-team player).

Kit's for next season:

I feel this month is very tough for us. pale

Slomka's Hannover are good and can prove to be a tricky home game for us.

Leverkusen will be an even more difficult game away from home and I don't really need to highlight our struggles from Borussia Park.

Werder Bremen are our best bet for a win in August since I really don't think they've done anything really noteworthy in the market right now and they have a new manager and I do not rate Dutt very highly .

At the end of August I predict us to have these stats :
W D L
1 1 2

Lately Hannover is not a difficult opponent for Borussia, so I'm calm.

Bayer is a great team, but win with them isn't impossible.

Werder is very weak. Win with them is a must, the more that we will play in a Borussia-Park.

Thanks! I only caught the game 10 minutes before the goal was scored and I didn't check the lineups and the fullbacks really look advanced so I was wondering but I did realize eventually.

I really like the football we are playing though, quite fluid and direct ( As usual ); the link-up play is quite delightful.

However, our passing could be much better in midfield I find, and I don't particularly like the positioning of the midfield either and i think the midfield pressing could improve; the likes of Bittencourt are finding lots of space in between the lines and if a simple through ball played we could be exposed. It is also quite easy for Hannover to simply just play a long ball over our defense.

Besides that, I'm really loving Raffael's performance so far.

HT - Just a few minor adjustments we need to make and we should have 3 points today!
