Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
He and Sturridge the only candidates for vice-captaincy, imo, and I guess it's right Hendo edged it.

Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
I think this was the logical decision and I don't think there were any other candidates. He's a leader on and off the field, and on top of which he has the highest workrate of maybe any player in football. Well deserved and hope he stays with Liverpool for the rest of his career or at least most of it.

Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
Not enough talk about Henderson! Even though we didn't win against Everton, we really should have on the back of his performance. He really took command of the team and seemed to be everywhere -- MotM again for me, and I don't believe there is a more industrious, hard working player in the PL.
Henderson vs. Everton
83 touches (tops on the team)
3 interceptions (tops)
1 blocked shot (tops, lol)
2 shots on target
89% passing
4 key passes (2nd to Raheem)
6 tackles (tops)
66 passes (tops) along with 3 accurate long balls and 1 throughball (tops, with Raheem)
0 dispossessions/turnovers and 0 fouls
What a ****ing boss. People keep trying to tell me he's not Liverpool's most important player, but this team would crumble without him. Oh, and all of this from an even deeper role than he normally plays.

Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
I think he's growing in confidence again BTW. Two goals in his last 3 games. 3 goals 3 assists on the season and only scored 4 last season. Same high work rate and coverage even though he's mostly been playing deeper this year and he still gets up into the box regularly.

Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
Maybe I've just been paying more attention to stuff like this, but I think I've seen Henderson step up his leadership things on the pitch since the Gerrard announcement. Shouting encouragements, getting the spirits up, going to individual players to have a word with them etc. As long as he doesn't over-do it, I think he might be ready to captain us after all.

Re: Forest Gump || Jordan Henderson
Definitely, and moreso when Gerrard is not on the pitch. He's really coming into the leadership role. Look at this:
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/178642-boss-why-henderson-can-excel-as-a-leader
Now the title is a bit misleading, but:
Like even that standoff with Costa, IMO, was a result of Costa getting up in the face of everyone on our team in the match and trying to be a 'bully' (even the commentators were mentioning it on my feed). Made Costa step off like the Alpha he is.

Now the title is a bit misleading, but:
In his press conference on Thursday, Rodgers recounted: "This is a guy who at the end of last season, when we were in for the title and he was suspended for three games after his sending-off against Manchester City, without telling anyone, went to a club official and offered to do all the media commitments so the others could concentrate on their game.
"He didn't want any glory for it. He was thinking of the team, of all his colleagues who were undertaking a really important spell and he wanted to absorb their duties so they could focus on football.
"That's the type of young man he is. In my time here, he's grown from not just a top-class young player who can only get better, as he embraces different systems and tactics, but he's also developed as a leader, in part by watching Steven Gerrard in the role.

His corners & free-kicks were quiet poor. Oh well, he is just human (till now).
