what about rumours, adam and downing leaving and sturridge coming in...sturridge is actually not bad but many times he looks selfish, i suppose such a player will not fit into BR system...3 more days left, i hope 1 more exciting name will get added into liverpool squad

I don't fancy Sturridge, really. If there's money to splash on a wing-forward I'd go for Walcott any day of the week and twice on full-moon.

25 mil for Sturridge is way out of out price range.

Walcott is better than Sturridge. Sturridge is too selfish to fit our style as well. Wouldn't want him any where near Anfield, especially when lifelong Liverpool fan is available for less and is better than him.

Cheaper foreign option would be better imo. Both Sturridge and Walcott are overrated.

yes I believe too, walcott should not come for more than 9 or 10 million, if at all he come.Instead , some foreign player who will have more value for money will be welcome, it will be interesting as Lucas is out for 3 months, what kind of player BR wants to bring

I rate Walcott as highly as anyone on this forum, I think his particular qualities, in Rodgers system, playing next to a player like Suarez who opens up space for players making diagonal runs , with a player like Sahin who makes incisive passes could well be the most cut throat system in England.

That being said, they should hustle and try to get him for 10 million or less.

Yep 15 mil and 100k wage for walcott will be as ridicuous as mil for Sturridge.There are surely better options available in European marker.

Either of Walcott or Sturridge will cost £20 million with yearly wages costing £5 million. Similar players from the continent would cost less both in terms of transfer fee & wage.

I actually think Sturridge is a decent striker, and may be more clinical than Walcott. The thing with Sturridge is that he may be a bit too selfish. Then again, that's not a horrible quality in a striker.

At the end of the day, it's 6 of one, half-a-dozen of the other.

Tbh, I'd rather see this deal (Walcott or Sturridge) done than the deal for Dempsey.

Charlie Adam set to be sold to Stoke and with exit of Jay Spearing as well that will allow #LFC to finally get Dempsey.

So Sturridge might not be a target. And Walcott would be hard to get considering Carroll's sales might also be needed. . None of them looking likely in just 48 hours

Adam & Spearing going & making way for Dempsey makes more sense somehow.

Agreed & thanks for the insight.

But, isn't there any player of Walcott's level who can be bought for £12-15 million!!! Think there is. In case of such players the salary demand would be substantially low, £50-80k IMO.

What's Walcott's motivation in moving to Liverpool! It's money. Why else would he chose EL over CL (and might not be just for this season either)! It's not like moving from Ajax, Malaga or Lille who even with CL are yet to attain our stature.

On a different note we should consider keeping Spearing as Lucas is out for three months.

Hope Dempsy, if he is eventually signed, will not turn into a Adam.

Doumia is the other player i thought would fit well, but he may be even more expensive than Walcott.

LFC are set to sign Samed Yesil, an 18 year old forward, from Bayer Leverkusen for £1 million.

Now Yesil has to be a youth signing! Can't see this as a plan B for Walcott!

I cant really believe we are signing Yesil.Whoever pulled of this move deserves .One of the signings of the summer for me particularly if the quoted fee is true.

Arguably as good if not better than Sterling so dont think he is a youth signing.Wont be long he breaks into our first team particularly under Rodgers.

I could see him banging in the goals at WH, and if he does he'll be worth more to sell or have the confidence to come play for us. Not an awful move, although I'd rather have him around for depth purposes.

That i find the most logical reason behind this loan deal. . taking that into count BR might receive some funding for another striker. . which is now A MUST! !
