I disagree, the reason Barcelona didn't end up with any titles was becouse of Messi's indecisiveness in big games. Barcelona pretty much dominated all their games but when it mattered Messi was nowhere to be found.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:No it does'nt matter more, but i dont think the achievement should be put down ( just like with Ronaldo last year should'nt have been ) it's not his fault that he's carried the attack this year with Pedro being shit and Villa being injured.
He has 72 goals with the closest next to him is Cesc and Sanchez with 15 each.... yet when you compare it to Madrid.... Higuain and Benzema have score 30 each.
It's clear this season Messi has carried them in attack its not his fault they did'nt win the trophy's this year he did all he could but when the closest player to you in attack has 15 goals......
Not sure why his achievement should be put down just because he didnt win it all.
He has scored 72 goals and 29 assists in 52 games ffs he's clearly not the reason Barca have fallen short this year just like Ronaldo was'nt the reason Madrid fell short last season.
This!!! Cant put it any better!

and one thing, unlike CR messi starts attacks he creates most of goals. 72 goals+30 assists = Directly participated almost in 70% Barca goals. If you count his non direct participation he almost participated in 90% barca goals this season. am sure you can not imagine a barcaa goal without messi participating in it

Dude I see some of your posts and you have to be the most uninformed poster on the site.
Did you see the club World Cup Final against Santos a team a lot of Anti-Barca fans on here thought would beat Barca with Neymar and company and Messi tore them to shreds?
Winning the Club World Cup, A TITLE and MVP.
Did you see him tear Madrid to shreds over two legs to win the Super Copa at the start of the season to win another trophy?
They will win the Copa Del Rey which he has been fantastic in and where he went directly through Madrid as well.
I don't know why Madrid fans feel the need to just totally make up that we didn't win anything this year, it is such stupidity.
Sorry to the Madrid fans who are not in a total state of delusion but seriously do you guys claim this poster?

Not to mention if any one actually cared to watch the games they would know that over the last two games where Messi had 4 penalties he won 2 of them and set another one up.
And also Ronaldo had a penalty today and missed one last game so what is all the fuss about?

He was completly invisible over the 2 legs vs. Chelsea (their 2 most important games of the season) and invisible vs. Madrid in Camp Nou (again, another important game of the season)
Ronaldo was the reason we won CDR last season aswell but he was still dubbed a big game flop, so what's your point?

Re: Messi breaks the global scoring record in a single season in first division football
LOL, this achievement is clearly absolutely useless
1. Barca have no trophies
2. Penalessi
3. He does not have abs like Ronaldo
4. Useless goals
5. Burgers...
Nah, hats off to Messi, a truly amaizng achievement. Ronaldo is now too far off for Pichichi. Something unique, this will never be repeated. True, it is a completely meaningless one, but he will have chance to win more trophies in his career. Seasons like this come once a lifetime.
All this in a team worse than Madrid. Messi

Why don't u consider Butterball Smithy's records though? Just because he played in another era which was far more harder than this new era?
Smithy scored 81 goals in one season with then a relegated team Wrexham Rovers back in 1892. You occasionally ignored him *tsk*tsk*.

LOL. Typical madridista nonsense. Where was your fap fantasy ronaldo against bayern? Scored an offside goal and a bs penalty, and rest of the time was shut down by 19 yr old alaba. Here is messi's record against top teams
valencia- game tying assist, 4 goals in return
malaga- hattrick and brace
atletico- hattrick and gamewinner
madrid- three assists, including an equalizer against run of play, and two go aheads
levante- two braces, including a bunker buster away which saved the campaign
Even in the chelsea and madrid matches messi created a couple good chances. The other teams pretty much decided to shut him down at all costs and let the others take their chances. No one else stepped up, simple as that. Show me one player in history who won every single big game over a season? It's a myth.
And lastly think about messi's 29 assists. He was feeding the likes of fabregas alexis and thiago. In every match he makes a couple outrageous passes(totally beyond the abilities ofronaldo). If he had a clinical finisher in front wed be talking laudrupesque numbers.

Against Chelsea, goal from this and it would have been a lot easier from there:
CDR final, Pedro 10cm back from offside, and the Barca would probably have been winners.
Messi invisible, you sound like flowing pile of butthurt to me.

Re: Messi breaks the global scoring record in a single season in first division football
In Ronaldo's last 3 competitive games he has taken 4 penalties and Messi has taken 5 in the same amount of time.
OMG what a huge injustice.
In the first 1/3 of the season it was like 11 to 3 in favor of Ronaldo so please stop your bitching.
The Butt Hurt is so monumental it's incredible.
LOL only on this site would morons find a way to trash someone who just scored 4 goals in his last home game of the year in the Catalan Derby sending his coach and mentor off and hugging him after the last one and hitting marks that have never been achieved in goal scoring while providing 30 assists as well.
And people have the nerve to complain because 1 of the 4 goals was not made by him. It is just so stupid.

Re: Messi breaks the global scoring record in a single season in first division football
I just kinda have to say.
It's a similar position to the one Ronaldo was in last year (we all know Messi is better and had 2 times the year) but it's a similar position.
He scored against most of the big teams (except Barca) and only won a minor trophy.
As neither a Messi nor Ronaldo fan....alot of people here just seem like hypocrites (both Ronaldo and Messi fans) because they've switched to the opposite side of a argument we had a year earlier.
So...

So...
exactly.
In el clasico a few weeks ago messi made 2 or 3 brilliant through balls where he left xavi and tello all by themself against casillas, only for them to miss and it was him who made the run for the goal all the while he pulled all the defenders towards him, leaving tello all by himself. And then he assisted the equalizer and was involved in the third goal.
So its not like he did nothing in the whole game, like did cristiano ronaldo did last season, seeing as he created must of our dangerous plays..

So...
Can you explain why MAdrid fans are saying Barca have not won any trophies this year then?
That would be pretty interesting since it's the same argument just flipped over, right?
I mean they didn't go through Madrid for the Super Copa (A Trophy) or anything, right?
They didn't go through the best team in South America in Santos for the Club World Cup, where Messi had one of his best games of the season, right?
They didn't go through Madrid to advance to the Copa Del Rey final which they will win right?
They played Madrid 6 times this year and Madrid won once where Ronaldo was decisive but lost the other league game and there were threads on here from Madrid fans to get rid of Ronaldo and YOU GUYS were calling him a big game flop. But again that's our fault, right?
So last year you won the Copa Del Rey and that was the only time you beat Barca although you played them 7 times that year if I'm correct and to that point that was the only time Ronaldo ever beat Messi in a Madrid shirt. Plus Ronaldo won the Pichichi.
This year we knocked Madrid out of two competitions (not one off games but 2 game series in both) in route to 2 trophies where Messi was incredible and we won the Club World Cup where Messi was the MVP playing an all time great Santos team.
Messi sets the World scoring record scoring over 70 goals and the Barcelona record and La Liga record and European Record, winning the Pichichi and the golden boot and notches 30 assists plus plays Madrid 6 times and only loses once while racking up 3 trophies again 2 at the expense of MAdrid.
And you are saying that the seasons are pretty much the same and we are "hypocrites".
I'm sorry but that's one of the most short sited and ill informed posts I've ever seen in my life.

Yes, the same guys sucking Messi's dick were belittling Madrid fans for doing the same thing in the flipped scenario of last season. Do you know what a hypocrite is? Calling people out for being hypocritical does not make one a hypocrite, it makes them observant
And why is the final of the CDR a full month later than last year? Or am I just misremembering? I could have sworn we played them in the league, then CDR, then the CL semis all in like 10 days last April?

1. Please read the entire post, including the bracketed sections.Yes, the seasons are similar.More importantly the positions and the arguments being posited by various forum members are similar except inverted.
2.You aren't gonna get anywhere attacking Ronaldo with me , Carry on in that regard, it's a dual dose of humor from my perspective.
3.All time great Santos team is just having a laugh.
If my post is short sited and ill informed because you feel Messi had a better season, then you're missing the point.Look at the arguments being made on both sides, it's a complete role reversal.
I think it's funny, I'm not trying to impose the humor of the whole situation on you, not at all....but from the perspective of someone who could care less for these two players, it's very very funny.
