am i the only one who feels bad for them?

maybe i dont know all the facts thanks to not being a local or even from the same continent but to me they have been really admirable the way they have punched above their weight , reaching cl semis, 2nd place in la liga with a shoe string budget , in such a small town ... hopefully they come back into la liga again in a couple of years

So what happened exactly? They still have quite a few quality players, and except for Cazorla none of their biggest names left right? I haven't followed it as much as I usually do this season.

Has this ever happened before, a team that ended that high in the previous year being relegated the next (without being penalized)

They just fell apart mate, lost Rossi and Cazorla that they could never replace, so there was absolutely no finishing up top. their midfield got so weak, they didnt sign to improve at all. and then they started losing games, even games when they were playing good, they would take a goal in the last minutes and crumbled. last but not least, they hired the angel of death Lotina, vicious circle, they choked and so they are down
