Silva and Iniesta were both much more impressive than Xavi IMO.

Xavi's influence was extremely limited mainly due to the work Marchisio and Motta did on him.

Pirlo did'nt dominate either but i feel when he was in possession he was much more effective than Xavi was and it was'nt just the assist either he created many chances that lead to saves from Casillas.

The pass to Iniesta which led to a shot. The pass to Fabregas which led to a shot. The set up for Alonso. The pass to Torres.Thats four that I can think of.
I am sure there are more.
Please name all these chances that Pirlo created and Casillas saved.
All he did was attempt useless Hollywood balls that went straight to Pique and chasing Xavi's shadow all game long.

Pirlo outclassed Xavi, it's embarrassing how short sighted the Barcelona fans are here.

Madrid win the league, Barcelona are superior, Chelsea beat you oiver two legs, you were superior. Ifd your team is so good why is the copa theonly big trophy you have?

Inter humilated you in 2010, you were still superior. Pirlo is two leagues avbove Xavi. Where were the GS chances he created? Pirlo made your criminal busquets look like an amateur.

This post just tells me that The Franchise has won the mentality game. It's his opinion, never has he ever said that he is right when it comes down to opinions. Just because he said Xavi was great or whatever, doesn't mean he was. At the same time, just because you said Pirlo was better than Xavi, doesn't mean he was. Learn to respect another member's opinion...

Great post. We need more posters like you on this forum.

This ^. Gee, I love your arguments, makes my day more happier and you got the facts right. I found that Pirlo at times did boss the midfield though Xavi did most of aggression and Iniesta helped him out and created most of Spains chances though I find he should be centrally in the middle with a stirker on the right hand side. We will create more chances and if we have someone decent up front then goals can easily be scored.

The thing is...
Xavi had 107 touches
Pirlo had 39

Pirlo had one assist
Xavi had none

Xavi had 2 shots at goal
Pirlo had 1

Xavi had 0 shot on target
Pirlo had 1

Now...be honest for once
if you were a coach with both of these players infront of you...
who would you choose just by looking at these stats?
a man with 107 touches & no impact...
or a man with 39 touches, 1 assist, one shot at target & does that that with less that half (36%) of the touch of the what the other guy had?

This thread is about Iniesta so let's keep it on track...

Take your own advice. This is not a Xavi vs Pirlo thread.

Everyone already establish that Iniesta was great on the day...
This isn't an argument as no one got personal
We all just have different views & discussing them which is the main reason for a forum...
You highlighting it as if I'm the only one comparing how they did is crap right there man...

The others didn't tell people to stay on topic then derail the thread with their very next post.

I repeat, this is not a Xavi vs Pirlo thread. One exists, if you want to discuss that topic go there, this isn't negotiable, it's an instruction, any more off topic posts and the thread gets locked. We're not having two Xavi vs Pirlo threads simultaneously in the right back section, it would be ridiculous.
