Messi scored his last goal (look below) of the season FROM 55 to 60 yards

Pointless debate.
Am I missing something?

He RECEIVED the ball from about 50-55 yards, sprinted towards goal and took the shot from about 22-25 yards. Is that the same as "he scored FROM 55-60 yards"? scratch
Scoring isn't shooting.
Nice way to spin it.
Well I didn't, you tried but it didn't work.

No.

Because by your logic, this is scoring from behind the halfway line:

Right?

Right?
So Messi scored copy of "goal of the century" from 4 yards?

Wow! Your logic is just....... rofl

Your question: Yes. Sorry if you don't realise this but he dribbled the ball from behind the halfway line all the way to the 18 yard box before he scored. He did not score from the other half. Hope that explanation helps, just in case the video doesn't. Laughing

I've noticed your childish arguments on here. Not going to start going back and forth with you, especially when you're resulting to insults.

Have fun.

Well if one starts the movement with the ball for the goal from the halfway line, it's originated by singular effort from the halfway line, hence it's scored from the halfway line.

Messi is better by a slight margin.

1. Messi
2. Ronaldo

The "HE SUCKS. WHEN WAS LAST TIME MESSI SCORE FROM 30 YARDS" comment in the op means a long shot, since Ronaldo scores them and Messi doesn't.

Well obviously. Still, scoring isn't only shooting.

Btw Messi scored freekick from about 34 yards against Mallorca 3 months ago.

OP probably meant long shoot but long shoots or free kicks are useless attributes ronaldo scores 1 long shoot and 2 free kicks per season. talk about real useful abilities

messi considered worse free kick taker yet he scored 3 this season (same like ronaldo i guess). so i dont think ronaldo is better free kick taker than messi

When it's hard to break down a tough defense, having the ability to score a free kick/long shot is useful.

It really isn't clear.

You talk about if Ronaldo's wearing gloves in a random thread and Messi will come into the conversation...

The better question is who should win Ballon... :coffee:
Messi has been rated in the top 20 all time best footballers in football history. Ronaldo can't even make top 20... :coffee:

Ronaldo should win obviously.

Why?

The man can play in any team and actually perform.

Wheras Messi can only do what he does with Barca or friendlies. :coffee:

Ronaldo's better overall, as well.
