It seems like Coentrao was brought in to play midfield... which is just extremely strange to me given his pricetag and lack of experience there. Or is there some reservations about Marcelo? He hasn't been all that great in preseason either.

A bit flabbergasted by the Ceontrao signing.

With Varane showing himself admirably, i see no reason to move Ramos unless we have to. We don't have anyone better at RB at the moment.

i think varane should be given a chance first to be our 3rd CB... let him play and see what he can give to the team

I think Coentrao was a failed gamble. Mou tried him out and I think it will go bad. I don't think he can even bench Marcelo in LB

hard to judge with just 3 games omar...

@Shaven, why should we promote Nacho? we already have cover in all positions in defense

I know for sure he doesnt trust morata (havent read official statement saying morata is 3rd choice), and he has a point, two strikers we need cover for pipita and benz. we need 3 strikers to rule them all.

Callejon is the 3rd choice.

Mou wanted a new striker last year because Benz was garbage form/ body wise. It means that we had only one real forward in Higgy with no backups, remember the first clasico? :lol!:
Now, both of them can start at any given time so backups aren't a problem. Morata doesn't even need to be promoted, call him up from Castilla whenever the other two can't play or need rest

By the way, after Mou praised him for his contribution in the last preseason game, Benz was quoted saying that he works harder in training and it pays off The question, what was he doing before ? Yuri has a point, me and zealous (come back fast!) as well

Well, TBH, Ronaldo and even Callejon can play in the CF position, as well as Morata if it comes down to such a crisis. If we have five players all missing, which is unlikely to say the least, then play a strikerless formation. We dont need Ade or anyone else. Neymar will come next year anyway.
