1 day left until Ghosts' EU release Smile

Just played my last game of MW3 Very Happy

What happens in the video is that some guy kills me because my aim is all over the place, he then starts tea-bagging me. The next round, I kill everyone on the opposing team - almost all of them leave the game in the process Razz

My team was so shitty that it was basically me against the opposing team of 6 players for 7 rounds. I did pretty well.

They haven't completely removed it really....

Just been replaced by something called Search and Rescue which is basically Kill Confirmed and S&D combined.

Yea they won't be that stupid to remove SnD lol

my gaming expert mate says that Ghosts uses the same characteristics as MW2, for example the movement and the physics so this will probably be popular among quite few.

well..I did buy my PS3 there, but that was the first time I've bought something there in like 4 years

need to get with the times with those prices

but then I remember theyre offering that trade in thing for next gen ( amazon are also offering the same thing, but it expires end of 2013. game might expire then too?)

anyway, first COD I won't be buying since COD4...just not into the series any more. might pick it up if you guys tell me it's the GOAT COD though.

There are only two different types of stores that sell games, around here.. unless, I'm willing to drive to another town. Those are Gamestop and Spaceworld. Spaceworld is definitely cheaper, but they don't keep their store open until after midnight during big launches, unlike Gamestop... which is why I was considering getting the game there. But I changed my mind.. I didn't feel like driving down to the store at midnight (1 hour ago), so I'm just going to pick it up later today, instead Smile

I'm not sure if I'll be getting PS4 just yet, so yeah.. I'm getting ghosts today. I've never bought a console on the day of release, and I've never regretted not doing so. They tend to have issues, and it usually doesn't take long before they release an updated version of the console that's cheaper and better. I never had the "fat" PS3 with red ring of death issues, for instance. But who knows.. I might end up changing my mind and getting PS4 before christmas.

I've been playing Ghosts for 2-3 hours, already. I'm not sure what to say.. it feels very different from past CoDs. If anything, I think it feels kind of similar to Black Ops 2. I've been hearing people say that it's a bit like MW3, but I really don't think so.

You die faster than ever before in this game. Bullet damage is insane. The maps are huge. At least 5x larger than the Modern Warfare 2 maps. The game feels refreshingly different, but I have mixed feelings about the maps. I've never liked large maps, and the maps in this game are so huge that I don't think I'll ever be able to completely memorize them all. It feels like I'm constantly surrounded in this game, and I don't believe I've ever been ganged up on as much in any previous CoD game. The majority of the map sections and spots in this game have multiple entrances, and it makes me feel kind of paranoid Razz

I like the new perks system, but there are way too many things that you can use to locate players with, in this game. Apart from SAT COM (UAV), there's tons of weapon attachments and whatnot that can help you locate opposing players on the radar, or by granting you the ability to see through walls etc. Of course, there are perks that can make you immune to most of these things.

So far, I think that the HoneyBadger is probably the best weapon in the game - it's accurate, kills fast and has a built-in silencer. But all of the weapons kill so fast that you should be able to do well with them all, as long as you aim properly. I really don't like the fact that the maps are so damn huge, and the opponent team seems to know where I am at all times, but I'll probably get used to it/find a way to counter it. I think that a lot of people will be frustrated about this game. You can literally get killed in less than a second, by someone who barely spotted you as you were running around a corner and figured they'd shoot at you for the hell of it.

One of the new game modes, Search and Rescue - the S&D replacement - was pretty cool, actually. I really wish they had kept the old S&D mode, but I can probably get used to this one.

Call of Duty: Ghosts reviews have started rolling out now and along with the current generation version, we have also gotten review for PlayStation 4 version. Unfortunately, these reviews don’t paint the PlayStation 4 version in a positive light. Call of Duty: Ghosts might be 1080p on PlayStation 4 but it is 60 fps on both current generation and next generation systems, so it is disappointing to see the game not holding a steady frame rate.

Below you can find some of the impressions of the various reviewers with respect to the frame rate of the game.

Joystiq gave Call of Duty: Ghosts 3.5 out of 5 on PlayStation 4 and the reviewer talked about the frame rate issues saying: “A key pillar of the Call of Duty experience has always been rock-solid 60 frames per seconds gameplay. On Xbox 360, Ghosts maintains this mandate. The PlayStation 4 version, however, has noticeable technical issues, sometimes slowing to a crawl, particularly during set-piece moments with multiple effects. One specific moment I was able to replicate multiple times on PS4 was a campaign scene that ran smoothly on Xbox 360 and PS3, while the game chugged On PlayStation 4. These frame rate hitches happen throughout the campaign on PS4 and, in a series known for its Hollywood-inspired bombast, it detracted from the experience.”

IGN also talked about encountering frame rate issues in their review saying: “On the current-gen versions Ghosts looks nearly identical, though I did encounter occasional framerate issues during the single-player campaign on PS3 and PS4.”

Edge gave the game a 7/10 and had the following to add regarding frame rate: “While the PS4 version runs at a native 1080p, that precious framerate drops briefly before checkpoints, which are at least placed so that the odd stutter never affects gunplay.”

GiantBomb also talks about these issues in their review saying: “Additionally, the PlayStation 4 version has a handful of noticeable dips in its frame rate. This usually seemed to happen when a lot of smoke or other effects were on-screen, but occasionally it occurred in multiplayer for reasons I couldn’t even guess at.”

Seeing people complain about the frame rate issues sure is worrying especially since PlayStation 4 is a new hardware and Ghosts isn’t particularly resource heavy and is still using an old engine. We hope that Activision is able to sort out these issues via a Day 1 patch for the PlayStation 4 version.
