Yeah i'm not trying to take away from him what he's done. But if you play like Messi for 15 games you're still not as good as him. Why? Because you haven't performed at that level for long enough.

I'm not taking away what he's done, i'm saying that he needs to keep it up for a season or two before people put him up with people who have been performing at his level or higher for a number of years.

Well he's not showing any signs of slowing down. I agree though he needs to keep this up for an extended period.

Having said that what he's been able to do so far has been magical, I'm so happy for him Proud

It's true that we're judging Varane on his top form, while his talent can't be questioned i'd like to wait till the end of the season before putting him in the category of world class defenders.

Fans of the Real Madrid kind can hype him to the heavens, wouldn't make much of a difference bar those who are annoyed by it. Once Varane continues to keep his head leveled, he'll turn out fine. I personally don't care for the term "World Class", I just want solid defenders who know how to f-ing play an offside trap properly and keep a level head on the field, you know, the opposite of Pepe and Ramos.

If Varane can do that, then this fan would be more than pleased. Oh and yes, I do believe he is the real deal, 15 games and all...

Madrid fans need to remember how they hyped up Ramos as a CB before they hype up Varane.

Only reason I'm against all this hyping is becouse Madrid fans set up alot of haters for Varane and it's also quite annoying. Just call him the best young CB in the world, that much is hard to argue with.

the difference is ramos was praised early on for his attacking abilities and ball control as a CB, never for his defending. varane is being praised for his maturity in defense. ramos never picked up the defending part of his game, varane still has lots of time to improve his game, and even if he doesnt improve much he is still a very capable defender, which ramos never was (though he was expected to improve due to his youngness)

You've no idea what you're talking about if you seriously think Ramos was praised for being a great CB only becouse of his ball control Laughing

He was hyped up becouse people genuinly believed he was a good CB back then, not becouse of his attacking qualities lmao.

Ramos was hyped the f*ck up (including me, I also hyped him up), to be fair, he did perform well back then, but that just shows how you can't just call someone WC too early.

Just search Ramos and unleash the stupidness (and again, I used to hype him up aswell).

Great defender, gets too much credit for his performances against players like Messi, Drogba. They all get double marked, or even triple marked. That Varane is the player that kicks the ball away doesnt mean he ´beats´ Messi, that just means he has good teamwork and good positioning. He will never beat Messi in a 1v1 frontal situation, no defender does. So please, give the guy credit where it deserves.

Ramos is a great CB. His problem is that he has helium for brains but despite that flaw I still consider him to be really really good at what he does.
