This is what Errol says in the finale, and this is the writer explaining it in depth. Interesting.

he’s describing the cosmology of eternal recurrence of various characters, including Cohle and Reggie Ledoux hit upon, and he’s hitting upon his personal mythology. When he says, “It’s been weeks since I left my mark, would they have eyes to see,” we can tell from that that he’s angling for a reckoning, for a showdown. He’s waiting for it. He believes the murders ritually enacted over a period of time, upon his death, permit him an ascension that removes him from the Karmic wheel of rebirth.

This show is pretty great. On episode 3 and I'm liking what I'm seeing thus far.

-Great acting
- High quality production
-Tense, gritty and dark

Has the makings of a classic

Watched the final episode today. Cracking show.

Only criticism I have of it is sometimes I find it hard to understand Rusty...slurs his words and speaks in a low tone too much.

But other than that, brilliant.

Rusty actually spoke to Errol in episode 2 I think, he had him, but Marty beeped at him to come to the car. Funny how fate/luck can screw you over lol. 17 years it took them to find the guy when all it could have taken was a couple of months.

Just started watching this show. Im in the middle of the second episode as we speak and I have to say its good, but its not tip top yet. I can see the potential for it though hut for me it needs to kick the pace up a notch. Its a bit too slow. Is it like this the whole time?

Like El Gunner said, he was the lawnmower guy Rusty approached. Spoke to him for a mere few mins before he was interrupted by Marty. They had him.. :facepalm:

Brad Pitt>Matt Damon. Brad Pitt is one of the few actors who can possibly top McConaughey but it will depend on what type of character he is cast as. McConaughey was originally approached to play Marty Hart but once he read the script he knew the character of Rust Cohle was perfect for him.

I have heard rumours of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton being the duo HBO wants hmm

Would be great. Show creator hinted season 2 will take place on Southern California.
