Am i correct to assume next season will be completely different actors and storyline?

Going to be hard to come close.

the only solution when we ' ll watch new serie must be forgetting the 1st series, otherwise everything will look like ugly. Because it's simply impossible to replicate the interpretation by Rust Cohle

This is my main concern, it needs to stay in this manner, other wise it just becomes some standard run of the mill police show.

I honestly don't have high hopes for it. It will be good or decent but they might ruin it with unnecessary action like Tom said.

Highly doubt it. Nic Pizzolatto doesn't have an action oriented writing style at all, from reading Galveston and watching the first season.

Also no great actors? please go. Colin Farrell is great in these roles. Rachel McAdams is great. Vince Vaughn can be really good in the right roles, he's a victim of type casting. Taylor Kitsch has been great in most things imo, loved him in Lone Survivor.

Can't wait.

Overall people just want to be negative since it's so much easier. I think the new season will be great, since nothing points in the opposite direction.

I didn't say anything about the actors( I know you didn't mean that for me).

Like I said before, I will watch it as a complete stand alone. I want it to be good so they can make more of the same.

Basically I  never listened negative opinions about TD , all were enthusiast about it ( I advised it to others , now in Italy it became popular because it was broadcasted by Sky recently but I watched it in March on streaming) the only negative opinions listened about TD  were about the ending ... not all liked it. but I appreciated even that . Besides I appreciated the fact that Pizzolato followed a realistic plot with no coup de théâtre , it could be the easiest thing but it 'd have devalued the whole history . I mean, you finish to watch this fantastic series and you feel to have followed something of absolutely realistic. It couldn't be same thing if Marty's wife was the yellow king Laughing  ( I remind the theories posted in this thread by a site ffs ) .
You could realize it was an unreal series already by intro , still in my ears Proud

Expectations about new series ? Basically you couldn't replace better this actors, Farrell is great he was probably my favorite name to replace McConaughey  but ... he is not McConaughey
Basically I wait a very good series but new series will never reach teh level than the first

It is as when you get a treble season in football. You can get  other great results in following years, but  (hardly) not replicating

I was speaking generally, there's so much negativity around this new season. Guess I read your post too quickly and rehashed my thoughts on the subject. Colin Farrell is prob the only person in the world that can function on a higher dose of alcohol than Tom Proud

Exactly Freeze.
I mean, it's quite obvious Pizzollato has his own, maybe not unique, but own style of storytelling and I think he is going to stick to that. I expect season 2 to be dark again and to have some slow burn moments again with an intriguing plot just like S1.

I have no concerns at all that this will turn into a generic detective show. Maybe if it goes on for 5 or 6 seasons, then it might. But not now yet. And I also don't give into this 'nothing will ever match up to Rust and S1' bullshit. That's fanboy polarising. I mean, I truly love Rust and their will never be a character like him again - he is special Very Happy but maybe we're going to see another GOAT character in a whole other vibe of GOATNESS in this series. And yes, S1 set some pretty ridiculous high standards, but only because of that I'm not so pessimistic to rule out that S2 can't find it's own path in some way and become special in it's own way as well.

I have faith in Nic in that he'll produce another good story for this upcoming season.
