Re: 2014/15 Champions League
What's best about that result is that it puts arsenal 5 points behind BvB whose GD is 10 greater, which means if BvB take one point from their last two games we won't have to play them in the round of 16

They were always going to go through as group winners.

Re: 2014/15 Champions League
So another year of having made hard work of an easy group, and another season we'll finish top of it comfortably in the end regardless.
Best part is we'll be able to play the reserves against Sporting in a fortnight.

Hoping to see Ake and Baker in the final CL game. Would be nice to do Schalke a favour and beat sporting, though.

Re: 2014/15 Champions League
How was that a favour to us? We won that game on our own merits and qualities.
If anything the favour was from us to him as it could have been about 10.

He told them to lose, we all know when Robbie wants to win, his team wins.

So he hasn't wanted to win for 4 of his 8 games?

Perfect. Should take some of the pressure off of Big Bird. #WeWantYouToStay

Re: 2014/15 Champions League
Drogba on our Champions League campaign:
— via the Daily Mirror
"We are very happy to have qualified. We have one more game to play and then we are going to wait for the draw and prepare for the second phase of the tournament."
"With this result we can rotate a little bit, rest some players and also keep other players involved."
"As the manager has said, we are going to need everyone because you can't achieve good results without the whole squad. The spirit is good and we will try to continue like this."
"I don't know if other teams will want to play us. They will have to play well against us to beat us, just as we will to continue this campaign."

Re: 2014/15 Champions League
So with half of the groups completed, the sides who have booked their place in the knockout round next year are Atletico, Juventus, Real Madrid, Basel, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal, with those in red being among the ones we could be drawn against in the draw next week.
