FFS, season hasn't even started yet.
Guess Wenger should buy a decent CB in the next few days.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
We're really short at CB now. Chambers and Monreal at CB v Palace is a real possibility, with Hayden on the bench. Not ideal.
Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Koscielny is back in trainiing and will be fit for Palace according to Sami Mokbel.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Koscielny should be fit for Palace game, Ospina "two to three weeks" (read: two to three years) away, Diaby back in training, Walcott not back until end of August:

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
First game in and we already have injury doubts lol.
Koscielny might not play against Besiktas. Gibbs doubtful too.
I know Beskitas are not all that, but Demba Ba against Miquel worries me A LOT.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wenger said he'll involve Mertesacker earlier than planned if Koscielny is unavailable. Not ideal but preferable to Miquel.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Along with that, he also hinted at Bellerin being involved maybe
That means he is planning on Debuchy at LB or Bellerin himself at LB. Or Debuchy at DB with Monreal LB and Bellerin RB

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
I think it's more likely that Mertesacker partners Chambers with Monreal and Debuchy as fullbacks. Bellerin will be on the bench as the only other fit defender we have.

True
And if push comes to shove, Arteta and Flamini are always there for CB/fullbacks

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wenger basically said he'd rather play an unfit Mertesacker than Miquel lol, rightly so, too.
If Mertesacker still isn't ready then we can try Monreal-Chambers and Debuchy and Bellerin as fullbacks.
But I think he'd rather Per in any case.
Just shows how much we need to sign a defender. Still feel we're two players short.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Looks like Gibbs, expectedly, isn't heading to Turkey. Reports that he didn't train.
Looks like Koscielny did though.
I am not sure if it is because he is fit, or because we don't have a choice. I am inclined to hope it's the former, but suspect it's the latter.
Miquel, Flamini and Bellerin also in the squad acc to Arseblog.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
That's not fair Sam.. 3 of those injuries were before Forsythe..
The other two (Gibbs and Sanogo) - well you can't expect him to magically make everyone injury free! I remember RG posted an article on what sets Forsythe's team apart - training muscles through movement based exercises, rather than traditional therapy, etc. I believe that process takes time and I guess the article said as much.. Can't pin injuries on a person who joined a couple of weeks back, whose training methods take a couple of months to show effects (supposedly)..

Plus we're talking about two extremely injury prone players in Gibbs and Sanogo.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
And don't you guys think that a sudden change in training methods will slightly have a negative effect on the muscles. Like maybe not responding in the right way hence leading to injuries?

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
No, I'm sure these guys are smart enough to gradually change the training regimes. They had individual training sessions designed and tailored for each player in Germany - I'm pretty sure they are still profiling the squad and reviewing all the medical and statistical data from last year(s) before they start making these changes, and gradually..
