I know Santos was shit but he did score some important goals for us, easily paid for his wages.

Chambers has tonsillitis, but did travel. Wenger says he "should be all right". Rated his chances as "50-50".

Monreal has a back problem but should be okay for the weekend. Isaac Hayden and Hector Bellerin, who Wenger says is "ready to play", travelled.

Debuchy out for a "long time" but they don't know how long exactly yet. Sounds like ligament damage, which is a couple of months out at a minimum, usually.

Sanogo also not in the squad for tomorrow. He's been left at home with little bit can't-kick-straight niggle a hamstring problem.

Lol real desperate times.
On a more serious note, this is what we were all afraid of when Wenger didn't strengthen in the defense department.

Bellerin and Hayden then. bounce

This is the one area of the transfer window I cannot defend Wenger on.

I'm at a loss as to why we didn't get another CB in.

Wenger is one of few managers who would sell first and then look for a replacement. We have always been 1 or 2 players away from achieving great things and Wenger has done nothing about it.

We go through the same injuries crises year after year and Wenger never learns.

I think Debuchy is to have one more test on Friday, but it's looking like 3-4 months out, sadly.

Chambers and Flamini fit to face Villa. Wilshere also okay after turning his ankle against Dortmund. Monreal will miss the Villa game with a back problem; Wenger says it's difficult to predict the length of his absence, but that he "doesn't think it'll be long term".

Club will know tonight whether Debuchy needs surgery or not. If not, he'll only be out for 6 weeks. If yes, it'll be three months.

Yaya Sanogo not available again due to a hamstring problem.

No other injury concerns.

Debuchy - 1.5-3 months
Giroud - 3-4 months
Monreal - ?
Sanogo - ?
Gnabry - ?
Theo - One week+

With Debuchy out, Chambers would probably start at RB which worries me, having all 3 of our CB options on the pitch.

Hayden may start coming into the first team fold, I think he could be useful in a limited capacity. Maybe sign a free agent like Yobo or Lugano on a short term deal.

Options at RB - Chambers, Bellerin, Coquelin, Flamini.
Options at CB - Per, Kos, Chambers
Options at LB - Gibbs, (I guess Flamini since he once played there a million years ago)

Monreal will miss the next four games with a back problem, too, apparently. Wenger: "He is not far, but he is not ready yet."

Sanogo still out. Will return after international break.

Walcott and Gnabry will return to full training after the break as well.

Isaac Hayden, Semi Ajayi, Hector Bellerin, Francis Coquelin and Chuba Akpom in the squad for the Southampton game. Wenger seems to suggest Hayden, Bellerin and Coquelin will start.

Chambers - who will be at RB for the next 3 months now - is also our only CB back-up. What a state.

Flamini fit for Spurs after sitting out the Southampton game. Monreal still not available. Mertesacker and Gibbs, who were rested on Tuesday due to minor knocks, are fine.
