Finally some smart thinking by Pelle... he doubled up the flanks with Kolarov/Clichy on one side and Zabaleta with a hard working Navas. Yaya and Fernandinho have support so their area of responsibility is manageable... Silva and Negredo are free to attack.

I think it's a good one EXCEPT that they've never played like this before lol. Tough to try something completely new for one game. For me, they should have put Javi Garcia in the mid as opposed to adding Kolarov.

But at least Pelle thought this thru.

he did the same in Madrid against Barca, with Marcelo on the wing. We lost 2-0, in 2010, though that Barca had a prime-Xavi.

If City had Aguero for this game, I'd tip them to win it 2-1. After seeing team sheets I'm predicting 2-2 draw in 1st leg.

I think Pellegrini has shat himself, this is their home leg, ffs...

Playing a full-back as a winger, I don't think that's a good idea. What does is he hoping for, a draw and beat them in Barcelona? I'm disappointed.

When you go in to a pharmacy and ask for sleeping aids, they should recommend the first half of this game on VHS. Take two doses an hour before bed, twice a week, until you fall back into a natural sleeping pattern. Do not exceed the recommended dose. At half-time it's been an anti-climax. Apart from one City cross and a Xavi long-ranger, the goalkeepers have had nothing to worry about. If McLewis wanted to watch good defending, I hope he's tuned in on this game by now.

We need rules applied, so that they don't have to give easy penalties in the second leg to cover those. Oh yes, and penalty is a goal. I still am gobsmacked how difficult concept applying rules is for some.

An unintentional handball is not a certain penalty, the referees use their own judgement. In my opinion, it wasn't a penalty even though it hit Clichy's arm.

By the looks of it that's about the only way Barcelona could get a goal today because I can't see them getting close to Hart's goal from open play.
